Today we woke bright & early (well most of us not early enough to catch the sunrise) and packed up our campsite ready for a short hike round the national park. Some people (sadly not me) saw a roadrunner. Yes, a real roadrunner. I saw a jack rabbit. After the walk we started the long, hot drive into Arizona and to Lake Havasu, our next destination. We stopped in Lake Havasu City to buy groceries for the week. After filling 2 and a half trollies full we proceeded to the check out and payed only $120! This place was great! Then we headed over the original London Bridge to the campsite where we parked and first thing we did was all run into the lake in our clothes. The weather was so hot that once we ... read more

”When I rest, I rust.” ----German Proverb . We decided last night to start heading home, the Tetons will still be there another day. We traveled out of Yellowstone by the East Gate and said “Good-bye” to the bison still clogging traffic as they eat their way into winter. On trip home included a stop in Cody,WY. Then we drove to Forest City Iowa, to visit the Winnebago factory, dealer. I am convinced the new VIEW will make our travels so much more pleasant. So we are gathering information and comparing price. Our journey has included 14,000 miles, the experiences, the sights and the people we met, were mind-boggling. We have memories to cherish and to laugh at. So WHEN we are oldER we can sit and remember when…. It was truly a trip of a ... read more

A day of eating Dim sum with the “relatives” Dinner with Tony Today’s plans all seem to be revolving around food! My favourite especially since eating is my hobby. :) First up on my list of eating adventures is to head into the Manhattan Chinatown. There’s an excellent bus shuttle service between the Flushing Chinatown to the Manhattan Chinatown for a mere $2. So Maria and I caught the bus to Main Street Flushing and then hopped aboard a shuttle bus and we were soon on our way. Once in Chinatown we met up with Maria’s parents and Uncle. They, as I may have mentioned before, were all very excited about my arrival into NYC especially since it has been so many years. Luckily I still have some photos from Christmas Eve on the memory card ... read more

08h30 - Alvorada!!

Okay, so I thought packing would be a little hard, but I underestimated how much stuff I want to take with me. It’s hard, since I’m going to be living in another country and won’t be able to just drive home to get anything I want. Plus, I have to take stuff for the rest of the warm weather and stuff to keep warm when it gets cold. Oh, it’s such a pain! I’ve never been a good packer anyway, because I always want to take way more than I need, and I know I’m doing that now, but I’m a girl! Don’t let the smile on my face in the picture fool you - I just hadn’t really gotten started yet. I’m leaving in just a few days and I’m so excited and scared and ... read more

Hola! I hope everyone is doing well! I have survived my first week of training with MVP. Let me tell ya, I really struggled to survive. The nine other volunteers and I had a great time getting to know each other. We stayed at “Bishops Hall” a retreat center/ retired priest’s center (much like the spiritual life center only very old) in Framingham, Massachusetts. We spent most of our days learning about the history of the Marist Family (the priests, sisters, brothers, and laity). Every night we had free time starting at about 7-8pm. The weather here is perfect. Not too hot, or cold. Perhaps somewhere around upper 70’s lower 80’s, and NO HUMIDITY!!!!! I am going to post a picture of the other volunteers and me in my gallery. Here is a little bit about ... read more

I had fun in New york and Brides's camp mates where pretty cool to hang out with. Next stop Boston.... read more

Pretty laidback day Shopping, eating & shopping Day of consuming! Maria had as appointment in town today around 3:30PM so there three of us made plans for lunch at the Blue Water Grill in Union Square. Since Maria and I wanted to check out a few stores and do a little shopping before lunch we left for the LIRR earlier than Eric. Well, actually we left twice before Eric. Maria and I made it to the LIRR station which is just a two block walk in less than 5 minutes and waited up on the platform. Hmm, the train is a couple minutes late. Wait, I see it coming. That’s when Maria turned to me and said she was not feeling very well. So we head back home…No problem, the next train is in about an ... read more

Today began my Suntrek tour of the west of the USA. First time I'd been to most of these places. The tour started in LA with a quick meet & greet with the group I was to spend the next 7 days with. We had a Swiss tour guide - Priska and there were 12 others besides me: 2 Brits (1 Scottish, 1 English), 2 Swedish, 2 Japanese, 3 Germans (how could we get by without germans?), 1 Panamaian, and 2 other Aussies. Only one member of our group was male & he just happened to be an Aussie so I quickly made friends with him. Our first stop was the Beverly Wilshire hotel - the hotel from "Pretty Woman." Next we walked along Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills then went to Hollywood. We walked by ... read more

11h30 - Entretanto, começaram a dividir ... read more
