I joined banking as an Officer dating back to 1989 , but quite prior to that as a hobby i was doing photography since my school days. Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Lauren, also known as Lou by my friends and family, and I am here to write all about my passion- travel. I am just a normal, regular woman with a 9-5 job as a lab manager who squeezes in as much travel as I can on my annual leave and on weekends, and like to make every second count. I am 33 years old, married with a full time tedious job, a flat and a dog, and I want to put it out there that you don't need a gap year or to take a lengthy career break to see the world. I want to show you how to squish in the highlights that the world has to offer on a time budget! My love affair with travel started at the tender age of 10. While all my friends parents were taking them off to the usual Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Greece, my parents brought me to Morocco. In the mid 90's it wasn't the refined tourist haven it is today, but very rustic, very untouched and for my parents bringing their child to this new and strange land, very scary! Still, it didnt put them off and we returned the following year and for many years to come. We enjoyed many holidays in north Africa, including Egypt and Tunisia, and only when I was 15 did I get my first trip to Europe. The rest is history of me squishing in trips here and there when I could afford it, nabbing some epic trips abroad while doing a PhD, and finally getting out there and doing it all when I got my first proper 'grown up' job. In this blog I will be looking back on previous travels, future travels, plans, hopes and dreams. I will also be popping down a few tips and anything fun I have come across along the way. I am also a massive foodie so will be popping a few posts in there about that I hope you enjoy and welcome..... **P.S check out my Instagram @drlouloubug for more snaps of my adventures **NB- I do not wish to cause any offense in my writing, some of what I say is sarcastic or tongue in cheek- dont think too hard about it- I love people, I love travel and I love the world.
