Hi, On the last weekend, I have travelled to south Texas. First stop was Austin where I have spent the night. Austin has great night life, nice pubs, etc. In one of the pubs, I watched a bluz performance which was really nice. A couple from Forth Worth "adopted" me. They were very much impressed that I have travelled on my own, a piece of cake for me. They were quite drunk and made me drunk as well by buying me more drinks. The lady kept using the sentence: "Oh, this is so hot" (hot = cool) on about everything. "I am from Israel" - "Oh, this is so hot". Or, "I work in computers" - "Oh, this is so hot", etc. Once they left to another pub, I escaped from them. On Saturday, waking up ... read more

*note- there was a bit of a delay in publishing this entry, I've been back in the Netherlands since 14/9/05 Hey everyone... So we made it from the east coast over to the west coast! What a difference...We got to LA around midday, our shuttle bus driver told us all the stuff we had to know about staying in Hollywood (places to see, places to absolutely avoid), drove us all around the city too (OK so he had to drop off a few other tourists but still, we got the tour) Our hostel, the 'Hollywood International Hostel' was bang in the middle of Hollywood Boulevard, opposite the Kodak Theatre (where the Oscars are) and the Chinese Mann's Theatre. And the stars were on our doorstep (the stars in the sidewalk that is). We decided to ... read more

Apparently it is unadvisable to ask girls to dance while in Halifax. Sitting at a table at St. Alexander's Pub in Halifax with 2 middle aged rednecks from Red Deer talking about gas prices was hardly what I had enivisioned for my night on the town in Halifax. And so, I stood up walked over to a table of harmless looking girls and kindly asked if any of them would feel like dancing. Suddenly as if sensing my foul intentions, an arm grabbed me and forcefully escorted me into the streets. Alone, drunk and bewildered, I found my way to another pub where I was fortunate enough to join a Dalhousie University Pub Crawl. The night became a blur, telling stories, drumming on a patio outside Pogue Fadu... and waking up safely in my comfy hostel ... read more

Reno: Sept.12-15 We flew into Reno where we enjoyed a much needed rest after months of working in Nicaragua, getting our rental houses in order and packing everything up. The weather was a lot cooler than the beautiful weather Canada has been enjoying but we could still take advantage of relaxing by the pool, and the $1 margaritas that went with it. Reno’s a bit of a dive full of your stereotypical ignorant, slot-happy Americans. We tried our hand at a bit of gambling- breaking even in the end after Justin had a few last minute lucky hands. I had trouble staying on the casino floor as no one believed I was 27, pegging me as no more than 17… so much for the bit of age I thought I had adquired as a mother. ... read more

So, no, I haven't actually left the country. I know this is a "traveljournal" but I have real important info to parlay, so I thought I'd do it anyways. My good friend Betsy Riley, co-student in Ms. Murgetroyd's 8th grade class from hell, told me to put up this picture of yours truly in one of his world famous sexy poses. Thanks Betsy, and tell your Bolognese roommate that I'm single, and will be in Bologna soon. Note Gadiel's hideously short hair. Glam rock till I die. ... read more

Morgen richting Kayenta ofzo, waar we 's middags Monument Valley gaan bezoeken! Groetjes, Jacinta en Ramon... read more
