Well, Kim and I made it safe and sound to Memphis, TN. We left this morning about 3:45am and arrived in Memphis around 2:00pm. We are pretty exhausted and won't begin any heavy sight seeing until tomorrow. We are planning on seeing Graceland and Beale Street! The drive from Fort Wayne to Memphis is about 600 miles and wasn't too bad. The states we visited today were: 1. Indiana (DOH!) 2. Illinois 3. Missouri 4. Arkansas 5. Tennessee The Illinois state police were out in force today....in a space of about 45 minutes we saw 4 state troopers and they were pulling people over for speeding left and right. Yikes! Well... this is my last night here in the states. I just wanted to say "see ya later" to everyone. And also I wanted to thank all my friends and family for giving me such nice send-offs... I really will miss you guys. The hommies in LA took me out for sushi... wonderful. My dad and the family had a nice bbq at the house sat. night before I left for NY the next morning. And C.Tan took me to get some soul food in Harlem... Let me say that you guys don't make it easy to leave home for 7 months. Hi there, I'm writing you now from my new appartment. Finally we moved in and we were all happy about it. Although we had a lot of fun with the guys in our hostel, but it's still something different to have its own appartment. In the 10 days while we were staying at the polynesian beach club hostel (which I can strongly recommend for cheap and nice habitation) we did a lot of activities like BBQ, Trips on a boat and of course... party! YEAHHH!!! I know it may sound a little bit crazy, but now that I moved in the appartment, it feels like vacation is over and reality begins. Today was to be our Boston 'Free Day', which meant we would be dropped off in the morning, and then we'd be picked up towards the end of the afternoon, and therefore have lots of time to explore around Boston. To start off with though we were dropped off at the Boston Tea Party Ship, in the Seaport District. Unfortunately, the Boston Tea Party Ship was under renovation, and would not be open to the public until 2006, so that was a big shame as that was on my list of things to tick off. Anyway, we were dropped off, and immediately went on our Boston Old Town Trolley tour. Well today started off quite emotionally, with a sad goodbye "gathering" in one of the rooms where we presented Priska, the greatest tour leader ever with a framed photograph of the group and the crazy Japs read us out a message thanking us for being kind and including them in everything even though they couldn't speak much english. Apparently the 30 second speech took them about 2 hours to translate into perfect english! We were quite a close group. Fortunately for me, 4 girls were joining me on another week's tour starting later today. So then after breakfast we got in the car together as a group for the last time.
