Good place to overnight between Dallas and Santa Fe?

Driving from Dallas to Santa Fe and wondering if anyone has a fave town to spend the night in.

I've done this drive before and overnighted in Amarillo, which is fine, but I'm up for something different -- and also something a little close to Santa Fe, as I have to pick up a friend at the airport at noon. Looking for a town with a fun inn or B&B, a great/funky restaurant, a giant ball of yarn ... anything! Anybody? Reply to this

Cynthia,

I like the way you think. You'll drive a bit out of your way but if you have the extra time I would head west toward Roswell, New Mexico and then head north to Santa Fe. You may remember that in Roswell you'll find a museum of Aliens. All kinds of great things to look at because of the 1947 Roswell incident. 75 miles from Roswell in Corona you'll find the crash site of the UFO.

Do a bit of research. It might be up your alley.

Let me know where you end up. Reply to this
