Hey guys More time has passed...less days until I go. I am reading travel books and personal accounts (blogs, stories, etc) LIKE A MAD WOMAN!!! I am trying to aquire as much knowledge as possible. THe majority of tips I found this past week had to do with packing. Seal stuff in plastic jars, im thinking like rinsed out peanut butter jars, and to double bag shampoo and toothpaste bottles. What no one ever tells you is the stuff you need to do if you are travelling with asthma... I couldnt find it anywhere, so for any asthmatics, Im making a list, I'll do my best to update and to ask the questions. Here is what I found so far: Good NEWS guys!!! We dont have to lug our 20 pound nebulizer up 300 steps to ... read more

Well the day has finally come. My flight leaves in about 15 hours. I think I'm done packing, or at least as close as I'm ever going to get. So now I'm just in that super eager anticipation mode. I don't really have anything at all to do today, so that's kind of nice. I'll be going out for dinner tonight with Coral and Emily and whoever, and then I've got to be at the airport around 11:30 PM. This turned out to be a really short entry, I don't have to much to say. That will most definitly change with my next entry, the first one from abroad. Good bye Canada. Thailand here I come.... read more

I'm posting this as we finish our family holiday in Whistler. If your kids like skiing in 10 days of constant snow (up the mountain) or rain (at the lower levels) and you enjoy skiing in near zero visibility (either caused by blizzard conditions or, more likely by fog) then Whistler is for you. OK we had great snow, 60 to 80 cms must have fallen in the 10 days we have been here but what's the use of it when you can't see the terrain. We got about 4 hours of hazy sun in the whole ten days, visibility was often down to 15 to 20 feet which is no fun. If you do choose Whistler (and I recommend you have a look elsewhere before you book) then make sure you bring goggles and a ... read more

So there's only 27 days left until Raylene and I get to enjoy 2 long months of amazing weather, mind-blowing scenery and an entirely new culture (not to mention all-night beach parties and elephant rides!). The excitement and anticipation makes studying for exams a feat in itself, but the sooner we get that over and done with, the sooner we can take off and let the experience of a lifetime begin... As things come together and we get a little closer to the trip, we'll try and make some updates with more pictures and information about the trip. Expect loads of pictures once we get to the Land of Smiles, and don't worry - uncontrollable jealously is perfectly normal. :P... read more
