After 4 nights at Besar we took the water taxi to Petani Beach on Pulau Kecil. This is a very calm and peacefull beach, just 5 huts. We enjoyed the huts, they we’re more spacious and more comfy. Still now and then the generator fell out and we had to light a candle or two. Here Skye really got over his waterfobia! We enjoyed a stormy evening as well as starry nights and even falling stars. Kids ate despite of the limited choice on the menu like crazy ( pitta bread filled with lots of veggies and feta cheese…) Here we could snorkel right from the beach into a small coral reef. It's Easter break for Leslie and Tiffany, so one more time we are on the road. First was the week-end in KL for the 10th birthday party of travelblog. On Monday we first queued for 90 minutes to get visas for Leslie and Tiffany, than we spent our day at the Sunway amusement park, going through the wildlife park, the amusement park as well as a waterpark. Nice to get busy for few hours, but really not much to write about. And by 8.30pm, it was time to get on the road again. First a taxi to PWTC bus station. There, we met Jo one last time as she was going on another night bus to Perenthians. Finally we arrived in Kuala Lumpur! Back to better food and a quite green city!! We met Annes friend Aude, who joined us for travelling. After strolling around the streets of Chinatown and visiting a nearby lake, I finally got a netbook - and we took a bus to Kuala Besut and then the morning ferry to Perhentian Kecil, to the secluded lagoon of D'Lagoon resort. Unfortunatly it rained a lot, quite unusual for April according to the locals, but the sound of the beach, the sand, the dense forests on the island and the snorkelling options made it an ideal way for relax, chill out after rushing through Burma. We woke up bright and early and set out on the 5 hour ride to Kuala Besut, the town with the jetty that has boats going to the Perhentian islands. Our friends told us that the islands were beautiful and that we wanted to stay at Butterfly Chalets. When we arrived on the island, Mom and I dropped our bags and butts at a restaruant while Tris went out to find the best deal on a room. After hunting our side of the island and finding nothing worth it (the owner at Butterfly Chalet was a complete jerk, and the chalets were pretty dinky for the amount he wanted) he hiked over to the other side of the island and asked around there.
