Reply to this Hi all! I'm not sure if
Jen and Michael have been nominated yet, if not, I would like to do so please. They are currently on a fantastic sounding trip around Europe.

In response to: Msg #158684 I would be pleased to nominate Jen and Michael. I've been following them since they are in Antibes, which is one of my favorite towns in France and Europe. Then they were in Sirmione, on Lake Garda, another top favorite. So I stepped in to suggest that they also visit Lauterbrunnen Valley in the Swiss Bernese Oberland. Moments after I posted that comment, they posted their blog of their time in Lauterbrunnen. They obviously have great taste in destinations!
Reply to this I noticed this week that ktfox is blogging again. She had stopped for a while.

In review of the above list it looks like peckergreen & nancic have garnered a bit of a following and only need one more recommendation or follower to end up on the front page. Take a look at their work and see if you would like to follow them. Maybe we can get them to the front page soon.

In response to: Msg #158804 peckergreen last blog was November 2011 and the last time they signed on was December 2011. How recently do they have to have blogged to be considered for Blogger of the Week?
This is also an issue for many other bloggers on Shane's list, is is what prompted me to ask the question how we could identify bloggers earlier in their trips so that their would be more of their blogs posted after they were identified.
It's great to see ktfox blogging again.
I will take this opportunity to second your nomination of Snowhawg...someone else who appreciates Alaska, and traveling in general.

Hi Bob,
Shane will need to confirm but I think you need to have blogged in the past month to be eligible for blogger of the week. I've written to peckergreen and asked him if he would be blogging again soon. Hopefully, so.
We've pondered the question many times about how to identify bloggers earlier in their trip. There was a forum thread started last year or the year before where you could post if you were starting a trip or if you identified someone who was starting out. We will have to look for it and move it to the front page.
Yes, it does seem that many bloggers are nominated and then stop blogging...that also happens after they receive blogger of the week.
I large portion of people only blog during a trip and do not continue to blog about their local area after getting back home. I think that is a shame because they are the experts on their local area and could tell us the off the beaten track things to do and see.
Yes, I'm thrilled to see Ktfox blogging again.
Snowhawg has been to some interesting locations. I look forward to reading more of his work. I do like to read blogs from Alaska.

I indeed can confirm, to be eligible to receive the Award one must have published a blog within the past month. Anyone who has four or less followers and is not in the Hall of Fame can be nominated though.
