The second day in Noosa we decided to take out the Kayaks and bikes and explore the river. Shenton went by Kayak and myself and Michael took to the bikes. Shenton chose to go by water to show off his new french sailor look with his Moustache, I think he scared a few people along the way though. The road took a slightly different route to the river and we lost Shenton for a while but caught up with him after he had Kayaked over 3km down river. Even though he looked knackered he was convinced that the tide would be in his advantage on the way back and so challenged us to a race. We didnt need to try very hard as it really was no competition and we got to the meeting point to ... read more

Check out the photos. One question.............. SHAVE or DONT SHAVE ? I have told him it is a good look for him, reminiscent of Kevin Webster in 1980's coronation street. Your votes count so please send us a comment :-) Atty I am sure I can count on you to vote Dont Shave :-) One more thing, it seems that Jeff has found a picture of the Mona Lisa in his pub, he is going to send it to auction and hopes to fund his and Traceys new lifestlye.... read more

So on Easter Monday I left Brisbane and headed to Noosa. I got there, waited in the boiling sun for an hour and a half for a backpacker bus to take us (I had met three guys on the bus - who I had known before between Sydney and Byron Bay - who were doing the same thing as me) to the bush camp. We stopped off on the way for a supermarket shop. I did a silly thing (in retrospect) and asked to share food with the boys for three days. We had pasta with the simplest of sauces for dinner every day, apart from the first where we just had meat. The breakfasts were baked beans on toast and for lunch they ate muffins - I did buy some cans of tuna though, for ... read more

The further south we headed the nicer the weather was, which was good as we were fast approaching our final stop before leaving Australia, in Noosa. Noosa is a lovely small town in the middle of the sunshine coast. We arrived off the bus as usual with nowhere to stay and tried to get beds in the YHA which the Lonely Planet guide described as amazing. They had three beds left but at a cost of $34.00 each. We ummed and ahhed and told her we'd call back. 5 minutes later we called back and the beds were gone. Oops! So none of us could really be bothered to make a decision so I pottered around on the Internet and the guys read their books and after about two hours of sitting in the bus shelter ... read more

So where were we.. oh yes we had arrived in Noosa and we got picked up by the noosa backpackers hostel bus and were put into a 8 bed dorm. We booked through hostelboookers for our first night and paid on arrival then went in search of Peter Pans travel company to use our free internet voucher that we had aquired in Thailand. Whilst we were there we noticed that they offered the same accomodation at a cheaper price so we booked another night at noosa backpackers saving a few bucks. You may think that a few dollars doesnt matter but when you are travelling for so long saving $3 a night really does add up. We also booked Australia Zoo tickets which includes a few shuttle bus from Noosa to the Zoo and back. The ... read more

We left Hervey Bay about 10 the next day on the Greyhound bus to Noosa with Alex, Steph, Big Kev and Cath in tow, we arrived in Noosa to a tropical downpour, once again Queensland, which is labeled ‘The Sunshine State’(at least on car number plates it is,) was toying with us. Our primary motivation for heading here was we had heard this is one of the best places in which to see Koalas, which was the one quintessential Australian animal we hadn’t seen (or run over) yet in the wild. We thought we must be onto something when we checked into Koalas Backpackers and spent the rest of the day peering out the window waiting for the rain to ease off, it didn’t. So as we were virtual prisoners in our hostel we thought we ... read more

Na dusek sem prebrala zgodbo o ljubezni z naslovom Svila Alessandra Baricca in zacela brati knjigo Ane Marije Kolman: Prebujanje zavesti.

Ta pogled, mislim z neboticniki, me ni pritegnil. Na severu Queenslanda je ze tropsko podnebje in januarja nic kaj privlacno za turiste, pravijo domacini, v notranjosti pa je vse bolj vroce in susno, bolj ko se priblizujemo mejam severnega teritorija. Takoj po pristanku v Brisbenu, sem zacutila vlago v zraku. Ob cesti proti Noosi so nas spremljali gozdovi, zelena bujna trava in polja. Peljale smo se proti ... read more

Noosa was much cooler on arrival than Brisbane but this turned out to be deceiving! We spent the night relaxing and we were flat out by 9pm! 16/01/2010 We spent the day relaxing and taking in the sights - spent most of our time on Sunshine Beach. Today we are off to the main beach we decided to walk as we were up before the free shuttle bus was due to depart, so an hour later we arrived. As we are due to leave for Rainbow beach today it was ideal for Rob to take his first surf lesson - 470 photos and me frazzling in the sun Rob was up and away - what a great day! 17/01/2010 Chilled out morning due to early check out. We played table tennis and relaxed in the hammocks ... read more

After leaving Rainbow Beach we headed south to Noosa, and it was only a 2hr drive which was a welcome break from the all day journeys! Noosa is a cool little place. Very expensive but the beach made up for it! We stayed at Dolphin's backpackers and it was one of the best hostels I have stayed in so far. All the staff were helpful and chilled out and the location right next to the beach was perfect. I have finally given in and bought some body boarding flippers which means I don't need to worry about hiring kit anymore. We spent both days on the beach...made a couple of trips into the town but it was good to just relax a bit after what has been a hectic few weeks! On the second day in ... read more
