What an exciting day. Started off with a big meeting with Graham, the Owner Relations Manager. Managed to get a few things sorted out... Then we set off out for more meetings with various people including group reservations, but before that we had to have lunch, especially after such a busy morning... We met a very nice guy called John who chatted to us and made us feel very welcome. He suggested we go and see a new boutique called Velvet that had just opened. What an eventful day... we are actually going back in time! We started our long journey to Canada. First flight was from Manchester to Amsterdam then Amsterdam to Vancouver. Flight was great, Claire didn't need to take any drugs. We were both very impressed with the airline KLM, very good service, nice staff and plenty to eat and drink., and we managed to get the best seats in the house! Most importantly we had our own tv screens with a huge range of films, music and so on to choose from. On arriving at Vancouver the time was around 4pm (around midnight back in the uk). We were both tired but managed to make to the vancouver airport Fairmont Hotel... very good chose Claire I must say. We had a lovely evening meal before heading back ... read more

So the opening day of the ski resort has been set back a week or so, until November 30 due to lack of snow. We need a good snowfall over the weekend, and we are all hoping it comes for several reasons: Daniel is bored of not working (I, on the otherhand, am still busy setting up stores), we want guests, we want to snowboard and see this place covered in the champagne powder they boast about. But it will deliver, and when it comes it won't stop (apparently). Worked today in the gift store. Unpacking, stocking shelves, vacuuming, dusting, etc, etc. The gift store is very cute, very typical, just missing a fat old cat that sits on the counter supervising. They delivered the Christmas trees into the village centre today, really starting to feel ... read more

Woke up to light rain fall that soon turned to snow, which then turned to pretty heavy snow. Went for a walk into town again, still not much happening yet, just more preparation for when the season begins. Took some time looking up accommodation on the net and notice boards - doesn't look like there is too much available (yet?). Apparently more comes available after this coming weekend when the owners come up and prepare their rentals. We were however, approached earlier this evening by a group of 6 others who asked is we were interested in sharing a big house in Snow Pines with them. My first impression was: 6 others?
