Hello again everyone. We must apologise as this stupid website wont accept our videos so we cant load them :( So you will all have to wait till we get home to see the hilarious stacks (me) and awesome jumps (jordan). Not too much has happened up here. Most days consist of skiing, hot chocolate, and relaxing in front of tv. When Waz isnt working we head up to the local pub, or the other one (there's only 2 to choose from). So far the advertisement from the other pub has been "FREE BUBBLY FOR THE LADIES ON FRIDAY NIGHTS" but when I arrived I was informed that the champagne had conveniently "Run out" (yeah right). (I think its a scam to get everyone to go there then be too lazy to go out into the ... read more

For those that aren't aware of my current surroundings, I have found a job, car and place to live in Kelowna, British Columbia. I'm working at a long-term care facility as an O.T, where my responsibilities are, but not limited to, making those at the end phase of their life more comfortable, independent and (hopefully) happy. It's a great fit, and I typically end my days refreshed and ready for extra-curriculars. I pinch myself regularily, reminding myself of how lucky I am to be gainfully employed, gained membership in a great group of friends, a wicked family and every seeming opportunity. I'm trying to keep up with my current schedule of skiing 3 times per week and climbing mon/wed/friday at the local climbing gym. The recent media frenzy has caused me to "put my pedals where ... read more

We left Vancouver on our 6 hour bus ride which turned into a 7 and a half hour bus ride due to the weather and poor visibility from the snow. We stayed in Kelowna, the town closest to Big White resort (about 1 hour's dive away) for 2 nights where we bought all our ski gear. We went out for pizza but missed the end of the Superbowl (Indianapolis Colts beat Chicago Bears) but it isn't anywhere near as big here in Canada as it is in USA. Then the next day we moved up to Big White. We stayed with Waz, his sister Heidi and their 3 other housemates in a 2 bedroom condo for about 1 week. It was a little difficult to find long term accommodation here. The reservation centre only does short ... read more

Well. It's been ages since I even checked out any travelblogs, let alone update ours. Lindsay and I have been busy as beavers at the university. Planning events, studying hard, volunteering at the Women's Resource Centre, etc. On weekends Lindsay has been the responsible one, working at the Marmalade Cat Cafe (a cute and cosy coffee shop here in town) and I've been snowboarding my precious study hours away- what a pity! :) This week is reading break, I am traveling to Toronto for a visit with family and friends and Lindsay will be up at Big White, enjoying the snow and time off of work! Hopefully we will both get some reading done though, seeing that it is 'reading' week. Anyway, more photos and adventures to come - hopefully sooner than later! peace, love ... read more

hey everybody..... tried to set up this travel blog thing before we left but never got around to it so now im gonna try to catch up!!! i'll try to be brief... we left for vancouver friday october 27th 2006. leaving was really sad and probably one of the hardest things ive ever had to do!! we caught a 13 hr flight to san francisco, where we thought we lost our luggage. we waited around for awhile, still with no sleep. our flight to vancouver was on alaskan airlines, tone didnt like it coz it was a small plane, like jetstar, but he pretty much slept the whole way anyway. we got to vancouver airport and caught a taxi to our hostel, the driver was crazy though he wouldnt slow down!! he did tell us a ... read more

Geoff and I were really excited to see the lights of Vancouver. It seems like we've been on the road for a while, and Vancouver is pretty much our final destination. after this it's homeward bound... we've got a lot to do before then! we've got five events and market rides in vancouver, and one market ride at whistler. We've also got to do a lot around vancouver just for fun. the drive was straightforward, and it was interesting to find ourselves on relatively even ground after three days in the mountains. we hit some nasty traffic coming into surrey... that was also a novel feeling, as we haven't seen traffic since toronto. we pulled up to the carmana plaza hotel just after dark and got ourselves established... and readied ourselves for the week to come! ... read more
