After struggling to wake up from a nasty late-night chinese food hangover (we ate chinese food from a place called Mannings in revelstoke... good idea? that's for you to decide), we hit the road for kelowna. It wasn't going to be a long trip, but we were eager to get into town because we had heard good things. we also had to try to fit in as much as possible because we were originally scheduled for a longer stay (and a day off) in kelowna but that wasn't possible because of the dead batteries in the truck. It was a rainy day, but the driving wasn't affected too much. Geoff and I arrived in Kelowna, went out for a bit of a walk around downtown, sat in for a nice steak dinner, and then went to ... read more

To all my family, friends, interested parties and to those who just happen to drop in by accident. I think we have all, at some time ,stumbled , tripped , staggered, crawled or maybe even sprinted along lifes ciruitous journey and suddenly, without warning, come to a major intersection, crossroads or round about. Sound familiar ? I am sure to most of you it does. We scratch our head and say, "Now which way do I go" Well, I an standing here scratching ( Hey, maybe thats why I am going bald) Too many crossroads makes the hair grow thinner me thinks....LOL Anyway, or as us Canadians would say, Anyways, ( We as Canadians are a dead give away abroad when we say that by the way, no other english speaking nation says " anyways". Almost seven weeks have zoomed by since Lindsay and I have been back in Canada. It would be a great understatement to say that we have been busy these past weeks. Indeed, I have traveled to both coasts of Canada and even wandered down to the USA my first days back in North America. Lindsay and I have been meaning to write a blog about what the heck we’ve been up to and perhaps even share a few more stories from our last weeks in Argentina, but the truth is, we see our biggest blog fans (our parents and dear friends Hailey and Mike) just about everyday, so why bother? However, I have quite a few pictures from my trip to Ottawa and Toronto, from the Latina Fiesta and some of our first days at school ... read more

just a very quick note: Lindsay and I are back in Canada (it's been about 8 days so far), in our own beds and back to university. We miss Buenos Aires very very much (this is an understatment). I will post a blog sometime this week about our 'adventures' so far back home in the smokey Okanagan. un beso, Jenica... read more

Day 98: Saturday 12th. August: Sunny: 2 hostels to go: Actually cool this morning. It was off to the markets and shops in a spot away from anywhere it seemed, then a walk around the historic site where the last iron spike was welded in to connect the east and west railway, on to the Go-Karts for those who dared at road rage, We called in at a flea market before a lunch stop on a lake. A visit to The Gray Monk winery for wine tasting, but I prefer ours in Western Australia although their views are spectacular. Arrived at our hostel in Kelowna, checked in and went for a walk around this rather lovely city with water, parks, traffic and people everywhere. Day 99: Week 15: Sunday 13th. August: Sunny: 1 more hostel and ... read more

Hi guys, hope you are well. Been a busy weekend in Kelowna, British Columbia, driving, playing cricket, watching hockey playoffs, playing cricket & DRIVING! Kelowna is aboot 744kms west of Calgary, with a population of about 150,000. It really has the feel of a small town rather that a big city, based in a very pretty valley around a very large lake. It only took us 9hrs to get here (inc a couple of food stops) on Friday night, got to the hotel around 2am (with the hour we gained crossing a timezone). The drive through the Rocky Mountains was unreal! the road itself is fairly flat winding around the mountains that just rise up and everywhere. Didn't get time to stop for a decent picture, but I will definately be back up there soon for ... read more

what a wonderful way to celebrate easter skiing with clean air, sun shine and fresh snow. All things I'm sure Christ would have approved of. Somebody yell "thank you Jesus". Just a little something from Revelstoke friends many years ago that I met at Edelweiss Valley. The years end dummy race was just great, check out the pictures. hugs... read more

My second trip to Big White this year (thanks BigWhiteChallets.com) and I love it. Mark, Elise and Jenny (from UK) joined me for this leg of the adventure, as did my son Daniel! We had an excellent time -- some of the best skiing I have EVER had. We had many bright sunny days, interesting and varying snow conditions... and excellent company. Out door hot tub, ski in ski out is never a bad thing! After Elise left, Mark hung on for a few days and Daniel joined us... Jenny's snow boarding resulted in a very sore bum, and Daniel took me down black diamond runs. It was fun and adventure all around!... read more

At the moment, I am sitting in the internet cafe at "The Big White" Ski Resort near Kelowna - about 6 hours drive from Vancouver. It is absolutely breathtaking here, it's sort of the stuff you see in Movies, Snow is everywhere, it's very magical ! My Aunt and Cousins brought me up here for the Spring Break, even they haven't been here before so it's new for all of us even though they've been skiing at other places heaps before. Well, we got here yesterday arvie, tucked into our hotel room, not bad, pretty cosy. In fact it's too cosy, I'm stuck sharing a double bed with my Cousin Jason. Mate, it was a very noisy night. I was pretty much pushed off the bed, sleep yelled at, snored at, and even farted at. Mate, ... read more
