It’s too bad we had planned on going to the studio today instead of yesterday. Yesterday it was rainy and gross and we planned on going into the city, today it’s gorgeous out and I was stuck in the studio. Oh well, I got a decent amount done. We have our pre-final review this week, basically just to check and make sure we’re going to be set for the final. That was the extent of my excitement for the day. Tomorrow’s not looking very exciting either. I’m planning on spending the majority of the day in the studio again. I think there’s going to be a lot of studio in the next 3 weeks. ... read more

Well I finally managed it and got everything packed...Took 5 attempts and still feel like it weighs a ton, even though on the bathroom scales it came out at 16kg, which is well under my allowance!!! So i set off tommorrow and it still doesn't seem real, I've packed up my house, said goodbye to the folks and most of my friends. So I guess this is it, from tomorrow I will be a turtle for with all my possessions on my back....lets just hope I don't topple over, ha ha ha. Not looking forward to the flight, but reckon if i don't think about it too much I'll be fine!! So next time I post an update I will be in Bangkok!! ... read more

Finished the Paris marathon! Managed to keep running for over 5 hours! The so-called 'winner' only lasted 2hrs07. Lightweight. Brilliant day, really enjoyed the run - yes, really. Temperature was nearly 30degrees but unbelievably felt fine with the heat. Water stations running out of water was a bit rubbish, and I think 10 loos at the race start on the Champs-Elysee for a field of 35000 was a bit optimistic, but still, the triumphant sprint finish and getting the medal were unmissable. Planning the next one, perhaps backwards this time:) ... read more

so here we are...day 3 of our trip. we've only had one slip up so far. we think thats a pretty good start. the slip up wasn't even a big deal and we managed to fix it...good old simpson credit union. so far we've seen EVERYTHING! our cousin Amanda has been acting as our tour guide and its been great. yesterday we spent the day walking around the streets of london just taking in the sights. by the end of the day our feet felt like they were going to fall off. we then soaked up the pub life and almost didn't make it back to our hostel on the other side of town because we missed the last tube (the subway...we're managing to pick up some of the lingo). last night we met these hilarious ... read more

So, the world of Italy. Its been beautiful here. It went straight from cold to summer and we are all fantastically ok with that. all the flowers are in bloom and walking down any street you are just enveloped by sweet smells. And then I try so hard not to think about how soon this is all going to come to a close. One thing the warm weather did bring was TOURISTS. One does not venture down into the Center of Florence anymore. I've never seen anything like it. It’s a small city, so the tourists are literally smooshed in like sardines in the main piazzas. The one time I did venture was Easter Morning. and that is a story: Every Easter for like, a 1,000 years they've processed "Holy Flint" that some...guy...at some point brought ... read more

So, back to yesterday...Fred was having trouble with jetlag, awoke early and left to work on email. I was getting up just as he returned to the room so when he chose to nap, so did I. Therefore, we did not leave the hotel until 11:00, missing the only boat of the day up to Szentendre (Saint Andrews...S.A.), a small 'oldfashioned' town just up the Duna (Danube.) These ferries run more often later in the season and not at all in winter, but in April, only the one. So we toddled on over to Batthyany Ter Metro/Train station and caught the green line to S.A. instead. After arriving in S.A. we realized that we could have easily made the 12 mile trek on bikes (we found a rental place near our hotel) and it would ... read more

Hi Everyone... Still can't convince Jayson to write one of these... Last night we found paella... (google image it if you are curious) And although it was quite tasty, I was a litte surprised when it arrived because when I looke at my plate I found that it was looking back at me. So I moved all the legs and bodies and eyes to Jaysons plate, and enjoyed what was left on mine, until I pulled a leg out of my mouth... after that I was totally finished with my meal. We went on another bus tour today, which is really a great way to see everything and get aquainted with the city. We hopped off in Barri Gotic, (the gothic quater) and wandered around for a while. But not before stopping at a PIZZA HUT! ... read more
