This is one of our 'Fly 'n' Flop holidays so we will be busy doing nothing but I'm sure I'll find something to share during our two weeks on the island of Tenerife. We have been to Tenerife many times over the years and with just over 4 hours flight time it is an ideal place to find some winter sunshine. Flying from our local airport, Stansted, is always a bonus but we still had an early start as our flight was departing at 8am. No queues at check-in and security queues were not too bad considering the numbers travelling at that time of the day either for business or pleasure. Our flight home departs at 7.00am this morning, so we were out of the hotel and into the airport at about 4.30am. The bags have already been checked in so it was just us and the hand luggage to worry about. The flight home was uneventful. We arrived home with lots of memories, but glad to be back in familiar territory. We have been away 33 days and every one of them has been different.... read more

Day 12 Today’s port is Santa Cruz in Tenerife (Canary Islands). Our tour is called “The best of Tenerife” The coach was the first one out and with a full load. The MAN coach was 40 feet long with 52 seats. I now have a true appreciation for DeNure Tours luxury coaches and emphasis on leg room. This coach is meant for tiny people. Spanish law states that you must have your seat belts on. It didn’t matter much to me because I was wedged in so tight that if there was an accident they were going to have to use the jaws of life to get me out. We were lucky enough to have ten days back in Spain in January before our cruise around the Canary Islands. A few walks, plenty of socialising and a local procession of a trono with an orange tree on the Sunday (we think it was in honour of St Anton but not sure!!) We went a farce at the Theatre in Fuengirola on the Friday evening, and learnt that some friends of ours, Gwen and David, were going on the same cruise as us, AND that they were also using Norwegian Air on the Sunday at 7.15am. Nadranom som sa stale budil, hore som bol prakicky uz od 4/00, nakoniec vyrazam o 6/00 Na bus c105 cakam len 5.min, odchadza zo zastavky el corte ingles oproti nakupnemu stredisku, ono je to prakticky hned pri bus stanici ale zas naco si nadchadzat 5.min a behat medzi nastupistami. Cestovne ma prekvapilo, na bono karte som mal 1€ a doplatok bol 0,15€, tak cul nevim ci sa sofer pomylil alebo je to cestovne ozaj take lacne do cca hodiny vzdialeneho punta del hildago. Bus spociatku plny ale postupne sa vyprazdnoval, vela ludi vystupilo v san cristobal la laguna. Na konecnej vystupujeme dvaja ludia, ja turista a jeden zrejme domaci.
