I have started some work for the call centre job - which I was assured will start for real on May the 1st. This has now been postponed again!! All I have been doing is entering peoples phone numbers into an internal database - incredibly boring but also very easy. 8hrs a day of this does screw with my head but it is easy money. The call-centre isn't selling or any of those ******* telemarketing things. Its for a company who require us to contact/recieve calls from their shareholders about an upcoming takeover or something like that anyway. Luckily the people I was working with all seemed a good bunch. On Saturday Mikey, Chris, Hovis and myself went to the famous Victoria Markets. Unfortunately it was closing up just as we arrived but looked like it ... read more

Hey everyone, I'm so sorry its been this long for us to get you updated. What can I say I got lazy with work and stuff. Well we've been in Melbourne just over 4 months now and we totally love it here. We're both settled in good jobs and we're both being kept on until end of july at least so it gives us a chance to really start saving again. Theres been so much happening since we arrived in Mel any spare money we've had has been on that. So far we've been to the Australian Tennis Open, then it was the Commonwealth games, then the grand prix, then the comedy festival, then easter and... I'm tired just thinking about it. We've thoroughly enjoyed it though, there just always seems to be something to look ... read more

Hello from Melbourne Airport. Last few of days were great. Visited wineries a couple of days ago. Great fun, fave was St Hubert probably because it reminded me most what I like about the Okanagan. Today was ANZAC Day (Australia's Remembrance Day). Got up early to watch the ceremonies and parade. Lots of people, and so many soldiers (I think they call them diggers) also lucky to catch a glimpse of the air force jets doing a fly over. Perfect way to say goodbye to the city (and the country). Now I'm in the MEL Singapore Airline lounge. Just enjoyed a couple of tea sandwiches and a VB (moving onto Tiger next...grrr). Nice lounge. Lots of really great snacks and bevies. TV, internet, and lots of magazines. On the down it's quite small (and strangely I'm ... read more

Hey guys, yesterday we all went to the Australian Capital of Canberra where we went to the Government Buildings, which was surpringly interesting, and the National Australian Museum, which wasn't all that. We had a BBQ and spent the evening drinking beer in the Youth Hostel. Today we drove down to a small seaside town called Lakes Entrance, was a 6 or so hour journey, but was a good laugh, everybody on the tour is really cool. My sunburn isnt too bad now, I think Lizzys back is still sore though. Lakes Entrance is fun, we went down to the beach and played a bit of football and had an american football ball to throw around. Just waiting around for dinner now, which Lizzy is helping to cook. Going to go now anyway, take care guys ... read more

Well this evening we went to see Ross Noble, one of my favourite British stand up comedians who was playing an extra show at the St Kilda Palais (about 5 mins walk from our flat in St Kilda. We already had ticekts thank god which we purchased the other night at the Beth Orton concert, and thank god we did. When we arrived there was a queue of at least 2,000 people waiting to pick up their tickets from the box office. Ross Noble had had a 2 week stint at the comedy festival playing another theatre and had sold out every night. Due to popular demand he had put on at late notice one final night - tonight show. Because it was short notice ticketmaster didnt have time to mail everyone their tickets so they ... read more

Huone piti luovuttaa jo aamusta, mut tavarat sai onneks jättää säilytykseen. Aateltiin mennä katteleen sellasta Queen Victori Markettia, jota oli kans mainostettu yhdessä sellasessa lehtisessä. No ei siel mitään ollu ku päästiin perille.

Hello all and welcome to my first blog. Well, yesterday's tour launch went off with a bang! Thank you to all who were able to pop in and say farewell. I had a belter. Highlights included Loge's ringworm-like chest after a closely fought and at times spiteful encounter of Stingers late in the day, and Ian and Jules's fantastic work on the barby, getting things organised etc. Always a great spread. While I think about it, if anyone's got any photos from the day let me know and i'll post a few. For those interested in finding out what happened after the sun went down, Logo, Big Steve, Rossco and myself jetted off to the Depot-My-God and met up with Paddy McKenna. We played a few games of pool and bought drinks for a couple of ... read more

Well there's only 2 weeks left until I leave Melbourne, on my way to Hanoi!! The realisation has just sunk in, so I am madly packing, organising, and panicking... My fundraiser is only 6 days away. Oh god what have I done?? I have frames, but no prints that fit in them, no hanging wire on their backs, not enough wine, and possibly no one actually coming... (in which case the lack of wine ceases to be a problem)... read more

Darren and I got up early and made Vix and Paul egg and bacon butties.................. We went for a short little walk along the beach (Vix and Paul had headed off up a mountain!!!) No sign of the lost camping gear- no one had handed it in- so our "cheap" weekend had become a little more expensive................. We packed up our stuff and headed off home as we had a bit of a drive ahead of us...... We called in on Darren's Aunty and Uncle (the couple who leant us the car) for a BBQ and ended up entertaining their 4 children!!! O gosh a real handful- all under the age of 4!!!!!!!!! I entertained them no end!!! I was playing plastic instruments- being the talented musician that I am, drawing Thomas the Tank 20 times!!! ... read more
