Days 106-108 We got a lift down to the station headed for Brisbane. We arrived at the hostel after walking the very long way round then went to check out the city. Popped into a couple of travel agents to try and book things further up the coast but just got confused with the millions of options and went back to the hostel with a headache! Chilled out in the hostel and watched tv. The next day it was pouring it down so we spent most of the morning in the travel agents booking up loads of cool stuff. Grabbed some lunch then went to Queensland Art Gallery for a touch of culture. Spent the evening chilling back at the hostel. Today Thunder (quite appropriatly) drove us to Magnetic Island, still raining. Breakfast in Tully but as it was a Sunday it was dead. Apparently we stopped at the best ice-cream place in Australia, had a milkshake, it was ok. Before we got on the ferry we stopped in Townsville for an hour. we all wished it was longer because it was lovely there, quick food shopping then onto the ferry. This is where we met Sophie, bless her. The ferry took about 30mins and it was gorgeous when we got there. 5 mins from the ferry our hostel, Base, was clean and impressive. Currently in the preparation stages of a motorcycle trip starting in SE Asia and and onwards from there. My leaving time has now changed to July 06 which will make things less hurried.
