Viele liebe und letzte Gruesse von down under. Rucksack ist gepackt (hat auch alles reingepasst!), bin aus dem Hostel ausgecheckt und warte jetzt bis mich 23:30 der Shuttle zum Flughafen abholt. Eine lange Reise hab ich vor mir!Zunaechst, wie gewohnt 2 STd vorher am Flughafen, dann 10 Stunden Aufenthalt in Sydney, spaeter 1 Std in Singapur..von den Stunden in der Luft ganz zu schweigen..bis ich in Frankfurt bin und mich hoffentlich in dem Chaos zurechtfinde. Der Outback-Trip war da schom relaxter, wobei wir immer 5:00 aufgestanden sind und taeglich 7-9km wandern mussten. Stationen: Uluru Basewalk-Sonnenuntergang Sonnenaufgang und Wanderung in den Olgas Kings Canyon Details und Fotos gibts spaeter...wir habens auch nicht mehr geschafft unsere Bilder auszutauschen, sodass Katja die Outback Bilder in Melbourne hat und sie mir naechste Woche per Po... read more

Sind gut in Darwin gelandet und auch schon im Hostel angekommen. Alles sehr guenstig und ziemlich in Ordnung. Sind noch nicht gany schluessig, ob wir uns jetzt um 6h, wo alle aussies noch schlafen aufs ohr hauen sollen, oder gleich wach bleiben. mal schauen. eine dusche waer jedenfalls nicht schlecht... aber jetlagmaessig gehts uns (zur zeit noch) prima! gglg martin und katharina... read more

puh. geschafft. Britzi ist abgegeben und alles ist gut gegangen. Darwin ist-wie in den Staedten gewohnt-ueberlaufen von Backpackern, die Hostels entsprechend teuer und ausgebucht(jetzt sind wir schon bei 30$ pro Nacht im Mehrbett-Zimmer, anfangs war es mal die Haelfte!). Naja, irgendwo muessen wir ja schlafen. Morgen gehts dann mit dem Ghan (Zug durchs OUtback von Darwin nach Adelaide) nach Alice Springs. Dort haben wir dann 1,5 Tage zum entspannen bevor es zur 4-Wheeler-Jeep-Tour geht..schlafen in Schlafsaecken unterm Sternenhimmel. Na, ich bin mal gespannt..obwohl man von den Postkarten und Bildern ja schon immer mit einer gewissen Erwartung rangeht... So war es also auch in den Nationalparks, wobei Karijini (1. We've made it to Darwin! We crossed over into our second Australian state (losing 1.5 hours) on Saturday and arrived in Darwin on Sunday. About an hour before Darwin is a place called Adelaide River. There's a roadhouse there which houses (the stuffed remains of) Charlie the buffalo - the buffalo from Crocodile Dundee! Needless to say I psyched him out. The blog is a bit behind at the moment so I thought I'd try to keep it up-to-date with what I'm doing now and backfill whenever I've got time. Darwin's quite nice. We're off to the sunset markets tomorrow night which should be good and then on Friday we pick up our third campervan to explore Litchfield, Nitmiluk and Kakadu National Parks. Yes, my favourite friend turned 24 yesterday - (hurrah, she has caught me up a year). We started off the celebrations the night before, ready for midnight. Heather, Emily, Mike, Clare, Oli, Libby and Dean had a wine and cheese night (for me it was Twix and Coke!). Libby, Dean, Rachel, Katie and I decided to sneak off into the room to go play cards and leave the others sitting outside, so we could take the opportunity to blow up balloons and hang up a birthday banner. It was going well until some of the balloons burst, making us all scream and surely give things away! We managed to keep Heather out of the room until midnight with a ton of lies about how Dean had been to the toilet and nobody should now go in ... read more
