After numerous trips to Chicago, mostly for business, but a few for pleasure, I am just about out of "new" things to share with you. But, as you know, I will try my best. I have always found Chicago to be a much more manageable city than LA, NY, Paris, or Tokyo. But you can decide for yourself. Fifty million people visit every year! One place I have always wanted to visit is the International Museum of Surgical Science, operated by the International College of Surgeons. It houses thousands of medical artifacts and objects, along with a huge dose of infamous quackery. It also houses a rather unique library, including one book written by Florence Nightingale! Friends have told me it is one of the most macabre places in the world! A companion visit would probably ... read more

With Lost Ark first released in 2019, the game had a buggy launch, and there was not enough player base for the game to be present. Fast forward to half a decade later, and Lost Ark is thriving as one of the most unique and dynamic Diablo-inspired MMOARPG that has undergone many revisions that brought about numerous quality-of-life improvements and introduced a plethora of new features, story quests, and endgame content. The newer endgame content has become significantly more challenging, as fans' complaints focused on the unusually easy difficulty near the end of the game. To retain your edge during the missions, you are advised to buy Lost Ark gold to attain more powerful weapons from the shop. Let us now explore the five reasons you should try out and play Lost Ark in 2024. You ... read more

Today Uber John picked up Sriracha, Pedro and Lori. Luggage loaded into the chevy blazer and then a ride downtown. There was some typical Monday morning traffic on the trip. Uber John dropped the group at the Boston Tea Party Museum on Congress Street Bridge. It is a floating museum in the middle of the bridge over the Fort Point Channel. We were able to join the 1030 tour. It was a very well done tour with the guides in the tour acting out in character the days leading up to, the tea party and the aftermath of the tea party. The tour was educational as well as entertaining. It was a windy day and one of the guides lost a hat into the channel. He remained in character despite the loss of the hat and ... read more

Google says: Chicago, on Lake Michigan in Illinois, is among the largest cities in the U.S. Famed for its bold architecture, it has a skyline punctuated by skyscrapers such as the iconic John Hancock Center, 1,451-ft. Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) and the neo-Gothic Tribune Tower. The city is also renowned for its museums, including the Art Institute of Chicago with its noted Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works. I started visiting Chicago in business back in the 80s. I much prefer Chicago to New York City, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Rome, or Moscow. For me, it is a big city but very manageable. Public transportation is very good, though O'Hare is a trek to and from downtown. The famous "El" can get me almost anywhere, along with an extensive bus system. I did not know: The ... read more

On all of the previous trips, I recall leaving early in the morning and arriving in Bangkok late at night, maybe around 11:15 local time at luggage carousel 13? This time, the trip begins in the evening, departing in the evening. And now just getting an update that it’s a bit later than planned at 8:30. Luckily it’s a short flight to ATL, the next flight doesn’t leave until 11:45. I could have taken an earlier flight, but it’s already 34+ hours of travel. Who needs more time in the airport. With the late evening departure, I’m hoping it will be easier to sleep and transition to Bangkok time. Arrival is 1:15 Tuesday afternoon. Still a long time to travel. Seems there was some lady trying to board the flight who didn’t have any carry on ... read more

Kasie had brunch with Pam and John. She is flying out later today and they will be heading to the airport. Pete, Lori and Sriracha took the train to the North Station. The plan was to go to Salem for the day. The train rail was getting an upgrade, so had to take a bus from the North Station to Swampscott. Had to ask staff at the train for the directions to the bus, but it was on schedule for the day. There was another couple that was asking for the same instructions to get to Salem at the North Station. We arrived at Swampscott early so had to wait for the train there. We took the train from Swampscott to Salem and then once in Salem we found a nice place for lunch. We headed ... read more

Known for its towering red rocks and jagged sandstone buttes, this desert destination is a popular travel spot year-round. A hiker’s paradise, Sedona has more than 100 different trails that range in difficulty. The people at The Hike House can help prepare travelers for the trail. One of the most popular is Cathedral Rock Trail, which offers breathtaking views of the area’s red rock formations. The Bell Rock Pathway, Devil's Bridge Trail, Boynton Canyon, and Palatki Ruins all feature ancient Native American ruins and cave paintings along the way. Today we headed into Boston for some touring. We took the regular Uber (not Uber John) to the Anderson/Woburn Train Station. We had a short wait for the train. We had purchased our weekend pass on the mTicket app. As the train conductor came around Sarah’s phone froze and it was stuck. It was not even able to do a full shutdown. The conductor said he would come back to check the ticket later. Eventually during the train ride after a utube video Sarah got her phone reset. We arrived at North Station. We disembarked and headed to the subway station to purchase our CharlieCard. We bought the day pass that allows unlimited rides for the day. We took the train to downtown area and had some coffee and treats at a coffee shop. Pete, Sarah ... read more

Uber John and Pam picked up Lori, Kasie and Sriracha for a visit to Cape Cod from Woburn hotel in the Chevy Blazer. The day started cloudy but then it cleared to be a sunny day. We stopped at a few sites on the Cape and had lunch at Captain Parker’s Pub. After lunch we drove to the end of the Cape to Providence Town. We were going to climb Pilgrim Monument, but it was not open for the season yet. We enjoyed the drive along the Cape the rest of the afternoon. We headed back to Woburn and had a late dinner at Sally’s Apizza with Pedro. Pedro flew into Logan Airport and he took the Logan Express to Woburn.
