Hello everyone! We arrived at our house in Moab around 10:30 tonight. We left Denver quite a bit later than planned due to the bus's A/C getting fixed and waiting for the pharmacy to deliver meds, but we're settled in and very happy with our rental :) What a great group we have! Lots of laughs, lots of stories…. a good start to a road trip. Nick: "It took us a while to get organized, but we made it and this place is beautiful. Everything I’ve seen so far has been awesome. Even though we’re packed in there like sardines, we rode comfortably. It’s been nice to get a change of scenery." Karla: "The company has been great and the laughter is plentiful and Baraki believes he can 'climb those mountains with ease'. Ha ha, suuuuure." ... read more

I chose Moab as a base of adventure while on my little mini-vacation this summer. I camped out in a walk-in campground right off the main road. Camping was a cinch, though the weirdly snobbish yuppies filling up the place were a bit, well, weird. So, consider this an open letter - just smile at someone if you see they are camping alone. It doesn't cost you anything and trust me, I'm not going to ask for help if you accidentally make eye contact, so you are in no way responsible for me. You just might make me (or someone else) smile, and relieve the loneliness of a long day on the road. The second night at the camp site a wicked thunder and lightening storm lit of the night sky for hours. I've never seen ... read more

Lagom random! Sov sedan utomhus under bara himlen. Var helt kolsvart så såg aaalla stjärnor, flygplan, ... read more

Thursday, 19 June, 2014 We recrossed the bridge by the Glen Canyon Dam and said goodbye to Lake Powell. We drove north on Hwy 89 through Kanab, Glendale and Hatch through such beautiful and varied landscapes. That's what I love about Utah, the vistas are ever-changing and always special. At Hwy 12 we turned east to the Dixie National Forest and the Red Canyon campground where we set up camp. After a quick lunch we headed to Bryce Canyon National Park. We drove the park road and stopped at most of the overlooks. Sean enjoyed the one called Fairyland best because he and Papa got to take a trail out onto the rocks. Friday, 20 June We drove north on scenic Hwy 89 through beautiful green valleys with the Sevier River meandering along beside us. As ... read more

Geo: 38.5733, -109.549We had a relaxing day at the Red Cliffs Lodge. We went for a trail ride on horseback in the morning, wine tasting in the afternoon, and a Hummer off-road ride at sunset. The Hummer ride was crazy. We were climbing rock faces of 60 degree inclines. Geo: 38.5733, -109.549We just finished 4 amazing days and nights rafting about 95 miles of the Colorado River through Cataract Canyon. We slept each night on cots under the stars.....incredible. The water was extremely high because of the snow melt so the rapids were pretty awesome...Class 4 and 5. And, there was a stretch of rapids that lasted a mile that was pretty intense. I don't have any shots of running the rapids but hope to have some soon.At the conclusion of the rafting trip, we were supposed to take 3-5 passenger Cessna planes back to Moab, but it was too windy to land on the small airstrip (Friday the 13th). So, we had to take a 3 hour bus trip in a less than air conditioned bus to get back to Moab.....all part of the ... read more
