The second weekend of my life in Leicester I took a day trip to a nearby town called Nottingham. For those of you who are Robin Hood fans you will recognize it due to its proximity with Sherwood Forest where Robin and his merry men hid in a giant hollow tree. Madison, a girl I spent a lot of time with at the London orientation, came with me. We left on Saturday morning by train, and the trip only took about 45 minutes. Once in Nottingham we were a bit early for anything that we wanted to see, so we had to wait a bit and decided to pass the time by wandering around the city. Well i suppose it is time to write my last blog (a month late- nothings changed)...can't say it will be the last ever blog- i may bore you again with the adventures of my life. My first week back was exciting to say the least, arrived back on Thursday night where my dad came to pick me up (on time) and we travelled back to sunny Leicestershire. The next morning i went to see the ponies, Dom firmly let me know that i had abandoned her for 3 months (in the hands of a very lovely friend) and decided she didn't want to speak to me- well that was until i went to see Mia then obviously Dom wanted all the attention (Nothing had changed- got to love the pony). By Sunday evening Dom was raiding ... read more

Just testing out this Blog lark really...less than a week to go now and still plenty left to do and organise. At work till Friday and then hopefully doing a bit of a pre-travelling shop on Saturday mornings before 'the' party in the evening- the time when people can celebrate that i am going away (you all have 3 months of rest). Hopefully this will work and be as simple as it seems...a tad too simple i think. Also will test out the photo lark and add a picture of the pony for good measure to make sure i understand any technical jargon i may come up across. hmmm...Now i wonder if the picture will turn up when i press publish or maybe this could be the reason i need to read the how to section ... read more

It takes bottle to give up your job and put your career on hold, leave everything you know behind and declare yourself homeless for a year with the intention of spending all of your hard earned savings. It’s difficult turning your back on the social and economic pressures of buying a house, settling down, and chasing a career. But occasionally some people do break free from the system, somehow managing to suppress their personal fears by heading off into the unknown armed with a backpack and an airline ticket to face some of the most dangerous countries in the world. A true traveller is not a backpacker, tourist or bum. A traveller is driven by a loud voice in their head screaming to feel alive. A traveller embraces life and takes up the challenge of facing ... read more
