Let us start a thread on various plans on Christmas in London this year. It will be exciting to know different activities you people are looking forward to and sharing it with each other. Reply to this

Having been away for several years now, other than the whole family get together thing (which I guess you as a traveler will not be involved in?) I am really this year just looking forward to the simple stuff, like on christmas eve walking to my local and having a few pints there with my friends followed by a donner kebab or fish and chips. When I was living in Argentina, a country that was hot during the british winter, what i really looked forward to was the cold. Reply to this

There is so much stuff to do in London that just can't be done back home (ie. Australia)! For instance ice-skating on one of the many outdoor rinks, playing in the snow (when it does snow that is), seeing one of the many pantomimes (the Hoff is headlining one of them this year), Handel's Messiah or any of the number of other Christmas themed carols at the Royal Albert, Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and like Ed just enjoying the cold weather! The cold weather just makes it feel so much more Christmas like than a hot Christmas back home.

I am also quite excited about a proper roast dinner for Christmas lunch! Reply to this

Tonight I'm having my Xmas get together with my friends in Brighton, Sussex (I am probably going to be ridiculously hung over tomorrow). But Xmas day itself will be Nikki, me, both our mums & my nan eating ALL day long at home in London. Reply to this

I have never been to London during the Christmas festival but have read that there are many shows and events you could visit. Try the London tourist board for events happening during that time. Reply to this
