After months of planning, alot of hard work and scrimping and saving I was finally sitting on the the Piccadilly line tube heading towards Heathrow Airport. It was then, when it finally sunk in. Monday 30.11.2009 Day 47 Clivden Cliveden is an Italianate stately-home at Taplow, Buckinghamshire, England. Set on cliffs 200 feet above the River Thames, it has been home to an Earl, two Dukes, a Prince of Wales and the Viscounts Astor. It is now owned by the National Trust and the house is leased as a five-star hotel run by von Essen hotels. During the 1970s it was occupied by Stanford University of California who used it as an overseas campus. It was the meeting place of the so-called "Cliveden Set" in the 1920s and 1930s and the setting for key events in the Profumo Affair in the 1960s. Dave had Stag Night last week and by the look/state of him on Sunday evening Id say hed had a great time. To sum it up Nottingham, Hooters....need I say more! I have asked for pictures from the night but so far they are not forthcoming....hmmmm I wonder why! Still I believe a good time was had by all on the night! Just testing... We leave in 2 days time; this time next week, we will be in Siberia. Thank you to all of those who have partaken in leaving celebrations.
