On Monday nights theres a bar called McDermotts that ha a group of 4 young guys from Ennis that come down and play some traditional Irish music so that was a great time. The music which nauseated me during St. patricks day at outback was a lot of fun in its proper setting. I had some guiness, smithwicks and a delicious bowl of real Irish Stew. I met 2 more Americans who were real laid back and had a good time hanging out with them for the night. This morning I woke up at 7:45am and rented (or hired) a bike for the day for €10 and rode up to the Cliffs of Moher. It took about 45 minutes and it was exhausting and I realized any incline over 0.0004 degrees may as well be a ... read more

Well its been a couple days but i've decided to go onward and forward with my flight to Dubrovnik, i found a bunch other numbers to call for lodging. Let's see whats happened since my last entry... Well I got Fish and Chips again since its cheap, fills you up and is relatively good and found Ken chilling in the common room which he usually does and asked him if he wanted to go check out the Comedy Store, which he did. We went over around 6 but doors didnt open until 630 so we went to a small pub and I tried a beer called London Pride which was pretty good and Hoegaarden or Boegaarden, something Belgian and it was a white ale. I didnt like it too much, seemed like something thats an acquired ... read more

Hey all! I got a CD back with some photos from St Patrick's weekend...I'm only going to throw up a few cos the sun is shining and I have to get out and get me some of those rays! ;) It rained ALL DAY yesterday...go figure, it's Ireland. Can't believe there's only two months left for me. What's with the whale in the Delaware river? Is that true? Has anyone been anywhere? Got any travel stories to share? Post some messages! Jeanine and Gene I'd love to hear about your road trip...(part work part pleasure--the way to do it!) Anyway love you all. Roxy... read more

Hello to anyone who reads these.....hope you are doing well, and feeling fresh with the new wave of spring rolling in! I am doing wonderful...I'm locked out of my house right now so am taking up residence at the only other place I feel comfortable....the invisible arena of cyber space! ;) I thought of everyone back home (or where ever you are, if not in philly) and decided to upload a few shots i took whilst roadtrippin round ireland with my first US visitor, Brian!!! Looking forward to Aunt Aggie and Michele coming! and then Frankie! What a gorgeous country! I was completely dazed by Connemara, a true gem. However because I live under the steadfast rule of Murphy's law, all the photos I took while passing through there were damaged in the photo lab. But ... read more

Today was alright. It started off good. We got up, had breakfast, got all packed and walked to the train station in Dublin. It was a little bit far, but the packs worked well. We walked along the river, which wasn't that impressive, but I liked how each bridge was different. We got to the station at the perfect time, and got our Eurail pass verified. The train ride was nice. Read some, ate lunch and saw a lot of pretty landscape. It was much more like how I thought Ireland would look. We arrived in Galway at 2:15pm only to find out that the bus for Doolin didn't leave until 6pm!! I was definitely not happy. We sat in a cafe for most of the time, walked around the town (I was freezing and very ... read more

Today was another full day. We were up early so we had breakfust and then came back to our room and went to sleep. Got moving around 10am and were headed towards Powerscourt. We walked to the bus stop we needed and on the way there passed through St. Stephen's Green. It was a really nice park. Lots of green grass and colorful flowers. The bus ride to Powerscourt was fun - we sat on the top. It was nice to leave the city and see some of the landscape. When we got there we had to walk up this incredibly steep hill. I think my legs will hurt tomorrow. At the top we found the entrance and had to walk a long bit until we hit the gardens. It was tiring, but really scenic and ... read more

Today has been a long, but exciting day. We landed in Dublin a little before 8am. We got off and i got my first stamp in my passport. We made reservations at the Camden Deluxe Hotel and took a bus into the town. We sat on the top deck of the double decker bus -- that was so cool! We dropped our backpacks off at the hotel and went walking. We saw St. Patrick's Cathedral and walked through the park. The old buildings are cool to look at. We walked around looking for food, but since it was Sunday, not much was open. We walked to the Guiness Brewery. That place was huge -- it was seven floors. It was a self-guided tour, so we walked around and got educated on beer :) THey had a ... read more

Joan, Kelly, & I went to Dublin for 2.5 days... we all kinda overslept Thursday due to staying out too late Wednesday night (visited Barrie in London), so rushed to the airport, and after we got to Dublin and checked into our B&B we took a nap. We headed into town and wandered around O'Connell Street, along the River Liffey, and grabbed dinner. Friday we took a bus tour of town and stopped at all the big sights: Trinity College (where the Book of Kells is), St Patrick's Cathedral, Guinness Brewery, and St Stephen's Green. Trinity College has an amazingly beautiful campus, and seeing the Book of Kells was cool, but the way they had it set up was odd. You walk thru a big room with tons of display boards where there are blow ups ... read more

Howdy! I am completely and totally content, as I hope this finds you in much the same state! My life is exactly where I want it to be and I am grateful to share with all of you the beauty that is before my eyes on a constant basis. I have some photos here, primarily from the Blarney castle, which has a sort of magical feeling around it, maybe it's the positive energy that flows around such a natural and wonderful setting....the grounds there are a simply enjoyable place to go for a walk....especially the time of year I went, when solidarity allows you to take it in on a much more personal level. Anyway I'm sure I couldn't possilbly capture the feeling, but nevertheless maybe they will do something for you... Also I have some ... read more

Hello Everyone! I have to say I'm very sorry I havn't written for a while. Tom and I have been very busy moving around a lot, and havn't spent very much time on computers. We left London and went to Dublin for St. Paddy's day which was a blast. We bummed around Dublin for a couple days and saw some of the sites; Christ Church, the Dublin Castle, and Trinity College. We also took tours of the Jameson Distillery and the Guiness Brewery. At the top of the Guiness Brewery, there is a bar that overlooks the city, so we had a couple of the best Guiness pints I've ever had up there. I'm normally not a fan of Guiness, but it tastes different in Ireland, especially at the brewery--much more smooth. We left from Dublin ... read more
