Trying to find the cheapest way to get to ireland
15 years ago, March 16th 2009 No: 1 Msg: #66143
I'm looking to go backpacking around Ireland, and then onto a few other countries in Europe at the end of the year. Has anyone got any tips on getting there the cheapest ? I don't care if I have to take a really round about way, or spend a million hours in flight; the more money i save the more fun i can have once i get there.

It's all depend where you come from. From the States, look at Aer Lingus, from Astralia, look at Airasia.com Reply to this

Yes, Air Asia x sell one way flights from KL in Malaysia to London, they are around £199 one way I think. Although they also apparently have special offers as well. They also sell budget tickets from Oz to KL. That's if you are coming from Oz or NZ of course.

I always find great bargains using http://www.skyscanner.net/ leave the dates open and you will get the best deals. Maybe not so much for Oz to Ireland but definately for flights around Europe.

We booked flights to Hong Kong from Dublin for €500 each, all included! Reply to this

Hello Mark 😊

I would use bargain flight search engines and be very flexible about when you fly. Then when you spot a particularly good flight price buy it right away. The price for the same flight can change within an hour or minutes even. Maybe the cheapest way to do it, is also be flexible about which European country you fly into.

If you fly into Irleand, there are some airlines that offer bargain flights to mainland Europe. The secret to getting a cheap one is the same as flying from Australia to Ireland. Buy it right away, when you see it on offer. Amongst the airlines that offer cheap flights from Ireland to mainland Europe are Aerlingus and Ryanair. Check their websites for flights.
