Traveling alone in Ireland as a female!
14 years ago, January 9th 2010 No: 1 Msg: #98954
Hello! I will be backpacking through Ireland February 9th-21st. I am flying into Dublin staying there a few nights, taking the rail to Blarney/Cork, taking the rail again to Limerick City, and then taking the bus to Doolin and then back to Dublin! I am a 19 year old female doing this all on my own! I am looking for advice for safe travel, places to avoid, things to see, and what I should expect! I really am looking forward to this I just want to have the safest trip possible! Please feel free to give me all the advice out there! Reply to this

Hello Jessica 😊

Ireland is not a particularly dangerous country for lone female travellers. It is where I am from, and I have travelled alone there too. Almost everyplace is safe during daylight hours. At night, usually the worst of it is that there may be some drunk and annoying men wanting to talk with you, in bars and sometimes on the street. They are though more annoying usually than dangerous.
