Well I have not written in a while and the reason for that is because my room mate moved his computer into his room, and now I don’t feel right for using him computer (before it was on the kitchen table for all to use when he was there and when he was not). I also hardly ever get the chance to come to the internet café anymore. So about my life so far in Dublin… there have not been a lot of things on the go, well at least that I can remember now. I went to a bar Sin e. It was a fun night where a group of us from the hostel got together. I have been working a lot. Last week most of the shifts were night shifts; it is not as ... read more

In Dublin's fair city where the girls are so pretty, I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone, As she wheeled her wheelbarrow, through streets broad and narrow, Crying cockles and mussels alive,alive-oh. Sitting low on the edge of the River Liffey, Dublin is a marvellously contradictory and vibrant place, the locals are more sophisticated than you might have expected, but can be small-town friendly too, and the city's tense history and rebellious nature, hidden by the inevitable accoutrements of modernity and affluence, appear when you least expect it. We loved it! After spending a night in the not so glamorous Hayes (just outside of Heathrow) we headed over to sunny (and it was for 4 whole days ... amazing feat) Ireland first thing in the morning with Kerry´s parents Norma (it was Norma´s birthday ... read more

After some shopping..and resting, we headed out to Taylor's Irish Night. Unfortunately, we got off the bus at the wrong place and had to walk a couple miles, finally catch a Taxi, but arrived almost on time. The food was great and the entertainment even better! The Merry Ploughboys sure could play and sing (Leon would have loved this!) and the Taylor's Irish dancers were also great. Somehow or other, I let Manoli convince me to accept the offer to dance with one of the young ladies (pic included). Wednesday, we took the Tour Bus around Dublin, and then stopped at a few places. The Guinness Storehouse tour was excellent, and eventhough the complimentary beer was probably very good, we didn't care for it. On the other hand, the Old Jameson Distellery tour was good, and ... read more

In one day we traveled from Dublin = Howth = Brey = Dalkey = Killeney = Bray = Dublin. A day I'll not forget that easy. We started the day, after we woke up and had a, believe it or not, Irish breakfast. Something I'm not planned to do again, In Dublin. We walked true O'Connell Street and saw this huge something in de middle of the street. After asking several times of what it is how high it is and what it's meaning. We only know how high it is. The Dublin Spire. 120 meters (393 ft) high. Then on to Connely station to get a Dart (train) to Howth. In Howth we wanted to see something different from Dublin. And we did. Howth is a small sailors village north of Dublin City. With a ... read more

Hello Everyone! We basically had about 6 days to take on the countries of North Ireland and Ireland and we wanted to make sure we did them justice with such little time. We started off with one day in Belfast, one day in Dublin, one day in Killarney, one day in Cork, and then our last two nights back in Dublin before we took off for France. We had a great time and met many wonderful travelers and enjoyed some of the most beautiful green scenery we have seen…also drank plenty of Guinness to get our hearts pumping with some Irish blood. Belfast, the capital of North Ireland, is well known for it’s violent past due to political and religious divisions that sends Protestant and Catholic to separate neighborhoods, separate stores, separate pubs, etc. etc. I ... read more

SO! Me and Katie got to the Gatwkick airport yesterday morning at 7:20 am... then took got to the South Terminal to get a train ticket. The guy at the train ticket counter said "ah... yes.. the train leaves in 5 minutes for Holyhead..." and by the time we got through paying he said "you've got a minute and a half to get to Platform 4!". It was like a racing game. So when we got there, we got on the next train... and about 20 minutes later, when arriving in London city centre, we then realized it was THE WRONG TRAIN we got onto. We then had to take a taxi to get to the next switch over in time. We hopped in the taxi and had a good ol conversation with the british man ... read more

14/15/16/17 May 06 I haven't written in a few days and nothing really exciting has happened except for today so the past few dazs are going to get blurred into one. Well first off the whole thing with having two jobs didn't really work out. If I kept the office job full time all that I could work at Bewley's was weekend shifts and who wants to be working everyday for a whole summer and not being able to go anywhere or see anything.. definitely not me. so after a bit of thinking I chose to go with Bewley's full time and not go with the office job. Now I keep on thinking did I really make the right decision?! well I guess I'll just have to see how it turns out. But there is only ... read more

Its 1:16 here in London, and we just arrived tonight at 12. I only have a limited time on the computer, so I'll make this quick. We arrived in Dublin at 9 am Tuesday and went to all the sites. We saw the Gusiness Brewery, St Patrick's Cathedral, Trinity University, Dublin Castle, and all the other Dublin sites. We ate dinner at a real Irish place, then hung out in our hostel with the other 16 people in our room. It was interesting to say the least, but a lot of fun. We went ot the Brazen Head, which is the oldest pub in Ireland from 1198. It was a great time with live music, then we went to the Temple Bar district and went to a few more pubs. We then went to a few ... read more

Fleeting visit on a cheap flight courtesy of Aer Lingus to visit Squeezy in Dublin. This time I was accompanied by the lovely Dana Potato. The three of us succeeded in eating, sleeping and sitting our way through a chilly Ireland weekend. We did go out on the Saturday night and met up with one of Dana's friends and one of Cathy's friends. I'm sorry to say I didn't drink Guiness but I have discovered Bulmer's cider(Magner's in London). It had a nice if quite subdued night - we must be getting old. We were still quite late which made getting home difficult. But there's nothing like romance to save the day. The night was late. The air was cold. The taxi queue was long. Three ladies stood in O'Connell street wishing for a miracle. Squeezy ... read more
