In Dublin's fair city where the girls are so pretty, I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone, As she wheeled her wheelbarrow,through streets broad and narrow, Crying cockles and mussels alive,alive-oh. Sitting low on the edge of the River Liffey, Dublin is a marvellously contradictory and vibrant place, the locals are more sophisticated than you might have expected, but can be small-town friendly too, and the city's tense history and rebellious nature, hidden by the inevitable accoutrements of modernity and affluence, appear when you least expect it. Hello Everyone! We basically had about 6 days to take on the countries of North Ireland and Ireland and we wanted to make sure we did them justice with such little time. We started off with one day in Belfast, one day in Dublin, one day in Killarney, one day in Cork, and then our last two nights back in Dublin before we took off for France. We had a great time and met many wonderful travelers and enjoyed some of the most beautiful green scenery we have seen…also drank plenty of Guinness to get our hearts pumping with some Irish blood. 14/15/16/17 May 06 I haven't written in a few days and nothing really exciting has happened except for today so the past few dazs are going to get blurred into one. Well first off the whole thing with having two jobs didn't really work out. If I kept the office job full time all that I could work at Bewley's was weekend shifts and who wants to be working everyday for a whole summer and not being able to go anywhere or see anything.. definitely not me. so after a bit of thinking I chose to go with Bewley's full time and not go with the office job. Fleeting visit on a cheap flight courtesy of Aer Lingus to visit Squeezy in Dublin. This time I was accompanied by the lovely Dana Potato. The three of us succeeded in eating, sleeping and sitting our way through a chilly Ireland weekend. We did go out on the Saturday night and met up with one of Dana's friends and one of Cathy's friends. I'm sorry to say I didn't drink Guiness but I have discovered Bulmer's cider(Magner's in London). It had a nice if quite subdued night - we must be getting old. We were still quite late which made getting home difficult. But there's nothing like romance to save the day. The night was late.
