Tag 1: 79km, Fahrzeit: 4:15 Durchschnitt 18,49 km/h Eigentlich wollte ich um 8 Uhr los, aber wenn man für ein viertel Jahr das Haus verlässt, fällt einem immer noch etwas ein, was getan werden müsste... Um halb elf habe ich habe ich dann beschlossen, die restlichen Arbeiten zu ignorieren und bin endlich los. Ich wollte bis zum frühen Nachmittag in Uelzen sein, um das Rad noch mal zu Jan Cordes zur Inspektion zu bringen. Die Strecke nach Uelzen bin ich in den letzten Monaten schon ein paar mal gefahren, irgendwie kommt hier noch nicht das Gefühl auf, auf grosser Fahrt zu sein. So, in weniger als 24 Stunden geht's los! :-) Hier noch ein paar Worte zu der Ausrüstung, wie ich sie im Moment geplant habe. Wie schon im ersten Eintrag erwähnt ist mein Fahrrad ein Liegerad von HP Velotechnik. Die "Street Machine GTe" ist als Reiserad ausgelegt und erlaubt die Anbringung von vier Packtaschen: Zwei hinten am Gepäckträger und zwei unterhalb des Sitzes. Die hinteren Taschen sind die bewährten Backroller von Ortlieb. Vorne wollte ich eigentlich Frontroller verwenden, habe aber schon beim ersten Probepacken festgestellt, dass ich mehr Platz brauche. Ich werde wohl gleich noch mal losziehen und ein zweites Paar Backroller besorgen. Zelt, Isomatte und Schlafsack kommt in einen Ortlieb Packsack (der hat schon ein paar Jahre und mehrere Motorradreisen hinter sich) auf den Gepackträger. OK, let's see what we can do with this blog thingy... This is just some information for all those who don't know me or haven't heard from me personally what I'm up to. After my first bike tour last summer (on the Elberadweg) I found a description of the North Sea Cycle Route on the web. I really liked the idea of doing that route, but with 6,000 km it is a bit long for a regular vacation. But I planned to try it sometimes in a few years. During this spring I realized I really needed a longer break from work, and I remembered that interesting north sea route. Why not? After Amsterdam, let's go to Hannover where Chris was waiting for us to make visit his city, drink german beer and eat currywurst! Don't forget a great white wine with olives, typical german soup in the middle of the night..and what about the city and playing music from the sewerage! The city is full of contrast - typical german architecture and modern glass buildings. Incredible municipality and opera palaces and a city full of people! What about the sales when you want to buy everything, but in the middle of the trip, have a lack of money;))) And a great variety to choose clothes, even for such tall guys like PH!
