This morning the camp host came to visit us, he brought Nate a few Yooperlite rocks, Nate vowed not to take credit for them. The host was so funny and kind, he was like you can go ahead and take credit. Truly this was so thoughtful and nice of this host and I know Nate really appreciated being able to take a few Yooperlite rocks home. We drove to Marquette today and are staying at Marquette Tourist Park. The campground is on located on Dead River. We opted to stay off the river so that we could have full hookups which has been rare during this trip unlike in Florida. It's been over 2 weeks since we've had a site with water hookup far less sewer. I'm looking forward to the long shower tonight and not ... read more

Daisy needed a day to herself so after finishing up my work Nate and I went to a few local waterfalls. The most impressive waterfall was Canyon Falls just a short 15 minute drive from our campsite. We enjoyed the hike along the cascades and past the fall along the gorge edge. The water appeared to only be a couple inches deep at points but moved with such power it would sweep you off your feet if you attempted to cross. After this we went to Powerhouse Falls, no hiking required. It was located beside the old powerhouse; it was small but beautiful. The last fall we visited today was Middle Falls right up from the town park almost hidden if not seeing the sign for we had to hike alongside the power station which was ... read more

Guess what? NO WATERFALLS TODAY!! Yep, I'm taking over the tour and blog today. Lol. We slept in, well at least I did, Tina got some work done while I microwaved some lunch yum. Began our adventure traveling along the Keweenaw Bay taking in the great views of the water and rocky shoreline. Continuing into the town of Hancock where our first experience into anything mining began at Quincy Mine. Sneaking into the last tour of the day as it is still early in the season. We also lucked out today because they were testing out new equipment on the tour, flashlights, this was only the second tour attempted since the first didn't go so well. A brief gathering to watch a video and allowing everyone to use the restroom before starting the over 2-hour tour. ... read more

We took a short drive to our next campsite, L'Anse Township Park. Upon arriving the hosts came to assist us in finding a campsite. They were so welcoming and provided lots of great information on the area. The campground is located on a hill above Keweenaw Bay off Lake Superior. At arrival the campground was showing 66°, the host explained that down the hill in town the temperature is typically 20° warmer. We planned to go hiking today but could not bear to leave the view. It was so relaxing sitting on the swing, listening to the birds, and feeling the cool breeze on our skin. After a while we needed some activity so Nate, the doggies, and I went down to the beach below our campground. Nate searched for rocks while the doggies and I ... read more

Yesterday was another rainy day. I was kind of relieved because I was able to catch up on my work. We watched a few more episodes of That ‘70s Show, Nate made lunch, and Daisy made dinner. It is nice when everyone pitches in. Nate and Daisy are already tired of hiking and viewing waterfalls. Somehow, I talked them into viewing a few more along the Black River Forest Scenic Byway. The first fall we viewed was Gorge Falls, just a brief walk from the parking lot. This waterfall was located within a deep and narrow gorge. The overlook supplied a full view of the falls. You could feel the mist of the falls as you stand in awe of its beauty. Then we walked over to Potawatomi Falls. The overlook was much closer which allowed ... read more

We drove into Michigan today and set up camp in Lake Gogebic State Park, MI. The roads up north tend to be a lot bumpier making it hard to work on the computer with detailed information, but I have been pushing on. I am so grateful to be able to continue to work on the road, but it does add stress to the trip. Sometimes I wish we were moving slower staying at each place longer, but there is so much to see in so little time. We started out with 1-2 nights at each place and are now staying 3 nights. That is in part due to the rain that comes through the area and seems to set in for the entire day making us not be able to site see. The campground we left ... read more

Yesterday was a rainy and cold day so we stayed in most of the day other than to go find internet to work a bit. We binged season 1 of That '70s Show. With that said I was excited to get up and get out to hike to some waterfalls. Waterfalls is my number one thing to visit on vacation. We started right at our campground, Pattison State Park. We hiked first to Little Manitou Falls. We approached a small fall that was very pretty thinking we found Little Manitou Falls we continued to find Big Manitou Falls. We sat for a while to enjoy what we thought was Big Manitou Falls, once we got up and began to hike, we found that was Little Manitou Falls, the first falls was just an extra. We hiked ... read more

Today we arrived at a seemingly abandoned state park. No one was at the office, all the bathrooms except one were closed, and all the water filling locations were turned off except for the one at the dump station. Even the closed for the season sign was still up on the campground sign. Our pull thru sight is more suited as a back in site due to the narrow entrance and the trees clustering the opening. Tomorrow, we scheduled a planned day to stay in due to the 100% chance of rain and 44-degree high temperatures. Of course, something had to mess with these plans because this campground has no cell service. Tonight, I had to go for a drive, in order to work and for Daisy to download her music & shows, but hey it ... read more

Really short drive today, although we did cross back into Wisconsin. We are camping at Willow River State Park so that we can enjoy Willow Falls. State parks are a little pricer here than we are use to, especially for a nonresident. They charge you the fee to camp, a fee to make the reservation, and an entrance fee that can be quite high. Example for nonresident to camp at Willow River State Park: $40+$8+$13=$61. Now if you wait to reserve until you arrive you can avoid the reservation fee. If you will be camping at multiple Wisconsin State Parks, I would suggest purchasing an annual pass for $38 to avoid paying the entrance EACH DAY that you camp. Another thing to know is that they do not provide water or sewer at your campsite, many ... read more

On this blog we wanted to post some pictures of full-time travel trailer life. We also wanted to help people understand what a trip like this is really like. In my mind it is a huge blessing and I feel so fortunate to have this opportunity. Traveling around the US is exciting, fun, and fulfilling. However, it is a lot of work and leaves very little time to relax. Some days are 3-6 hours of driving and then we try to squeeze in some sightseeing on the same day. We do this because it's hard to say where life will lead and while we have this opportunity, we want to see all we can. The good thing is the days are long here sunrise is typically around 5:30 and sunset is typically close to 9:00. If ... read more
