Today was finally Daisy’s Day. We got an early start to move to Rippling Stream Campground, about a 3-hour drive near Columbus Ohio. We set up and headed out to Otherworld right away because they are closed tomorrow, and we are leaving the following day. Otherworld is an immersive art installation playground with over 40 rooms. Each room was unique, playful, with its own lighting effects, and sculptures. There were small passages to climb thru, secret areas, and plush seating to immerse yourself in the room. Daisy’s favorite room was the mirror passage because it gave the optical illusion of an infinity mirror where your image just appears to continue as far as you can see. It also had led lighting that gave off funhouse vibes with its sporadic patterns of colorful lighting. Nate enjoyed one ... read more

We did it! Yesterday after moving to our new campsite, Country Acres Campground & Fun Park (Passport America Campground) we stayed at the campground ALL DAY. Soon after arriving we took the doggies on a walk to explore the campground. Chloe enjoyed the dog park with all its fun ramps, tunnels, and space to run. While Mandy delighted in sniffing the entire dog park, hey she’s 14 so no obstacle courses for her. Nate and Daisy enjoyed all the inflatables: 1 slide, 2 obstacle courses, and 2 jumping pads. They enjoyed it so much Nate got kicked off the jumping pad. That did not hold them down they decided to play basketball for over an hour with all the kids from the campground. The campground also had a talent show that night, a pool, kiddie pool, ... read more

When I was working this morning, I was fortunate to see a lot of different birds out the RV window. So, we thought going to check out Magee Marsh and Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge would pay off, but we did not see too many birds. Partially because it was later in the day, and we left without eating thinking that since we are in a more populated area, we would easily find a place to eat out for a quick bite. Well, an hour after leaving the trailer we settled on a place. At Magee Marsh it was like the birds were in surround sound, but the foliage was so full it was hard to get any pictures of tiny birds or even at times to locate them at all. We did enjoy following the huge ... read more

Nate was able to obtain 2 new tires from a local tire dealer and put them on the trailer. Then we headed out towards Toledo, OH. We stopped off at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, MI. It was a magical place with Christmas décor outside and inside, lights everywhere, and Christmas overload. Next door was a hotel with an indoor waterpark, but it was too pricey, so we continued to Toledo, OH. So, I figured out this evening why Nate has been rushing the trip since I had him take over a few days ago. He has been trying to get to Cleveland, OH because his favorite band is in concert their tomorrow. Well, he is not going to make it despite only being 2 hours away. Daisy and I don’t think it is a good ... read more

Well, it was one of those days…. We crossed over the Mackinac Bridge from yesterdays blog. Due to pulling the trailer it cost us $10 to cross the bridge but no other way to go expect back around Wisconsin. Crossing the bridge allowed us to see up close the construction of this amazing bridge and to view more of the area where Lake Huron and Lake Michigan meet. Nate continued to drive as I worked. He said he was getting low on gas, I pulled up the location and price of a few gas stations since gas is averaging $5.20 per gallon right now, but Nate did not exit to one of these gas stations. He continued on the interstate because of another driver pulling a flatbed trailer that was swerving all over the two lanes. ... read more

We started the day out at Deer Ranch. Upon entering the ranch, we entered a fawn enclosure. The fawn was only 3 weeks old, still very soft, tiny, and wobbly. After this we walked the property and feed the deer apples and carrots. Apples are their favorite, but they are not too picky. I think that we enjoyed it more than others because we stayed much longer. Plus, we had to return to the fawn before leaving. Pulling Nate away from the fawn was a bit difficult. He stayed behind and ran out with his jacket pulled out saying come on let’s go I got the fawn, but he was just kidding around. Oh, we got our first picture of small red squirrel, so very cute, just chillin’ with the deer. After this we visited Castle ... read more

Our adventure continues thru the Upper Peninsula to Tahquamenon Falls State Park. Since there was no phone or internet at our next planned camping stop, we made a quick decision to stop over to view the fall and continue since tomorrow is payroll. It was a very short walk from the parking lot to view Tahquamenon Upper Falls. There were multiple viewing platforms that continued to be more impressive leading to a full-on view, almost level with the falls, down 94 steps. You could feel the mist of the fall on your face as you stood on the outermost facing deck. The fall was powerful, brown, and full. So much flow that it cascaded over the cliff creating a tunnel behind the waterfall. We did not take time to view the lower falls since it was ... read more

Today we hiked over 9 miles at Chapel Beach. Most of the walk was level, but a portion was very muddy. Luckily along the walk we were able to stop at Chapel Falls. It was a stunning place to rest. Chapel Beach felt like a piece of Heaven. As soon as you approached the beach from the woods you could feel the cool breeze. The first view is from above looking down into the blue green endless lake. Heading down to the beach you pass Chapel Rock. A towering limestone formation shaped by water a long time ago. A tree sits on top of it with its roots extending to the other cliff. Then you cross over a waterfall that flows straight into Lake Superior. We walked down the beach to view more of the Pictured ... read more

Today we moved to Munising Tourist Park Campground. On the way we stopped off at Lakenenland Sculpture Park. The park contained over 80 iron sculptures. Some of the sculptures were whimsical while others showed the artist political views. Daisy really seemed to enjoy this stop she said it had a nice junk yard, liberal movement vibe. This campground is on Lake Superior as well, but the sites were full due to it being the weekend. We can see the water from a distance and unfortunately, we have a good amount of road noise but should have a nice sunset tonight from the campground. After setting up we headed out to Munising Falls, it appeared dehydrated, but the surrounding sandstone cliff was gorgeous. On our drive to Miners Beach, we took a detour to Miners Falls. It was a cold and windy day. We didn't push too hard today because I have been feeling overwhelmed with work and travel balance. We skipped some waterfalls and the sculpture park, we opted to go to Presque Isle. We were fortunate enough to see a deer in the early afternoon. We checked out the beach, the small breakwater light, and Black Rocks. Black rocks was amazing the water was bright blue in some areas and a vibrant green in others. The color of the rocks and cliffs adds a dramatic landscape to the shoreline of Black Rocks. We sat here for time taking in the beauty. We then headed back to the trailer. After resting up we returned to Presque Isle to view the sunset. It's moments like that when I can feel the presence ... read more
