When I think about how impulsive just upping sticks and moving to Barcelona is, I laugh at myself. Do I not know myself well enough yet, this is what I do. Suddenly setting my mind to something then crazily following it though. The hungover haze of Thursday evening was super surreal... I live in Spain now. On Friday evening as I sipped a cocktail in a rooftop bar staring over at the German stranger before me I just couldn't believe I was here. That first evening of cocktails, laugher and nerves was probably the best way to baptise myself into this new life. Alex a 31 year old I met online offered to show me around the city, I didn't know the streets, the language, the rules. After a few drinks I was spun in a ... read more

As I stroll across the sand saying goodbye to the wonderful carribean ocean I look up at the stars and am satisfied that I have seen the colours of another sky. I have felt the gentle caress of the wind, soldiered though the intense heat, danced in the rain and lit fires in the chills. These pass few months have been life changing, people, places, choices, journeys have all changed the course of my life in ways I will never truly understand. Some desicidions will fade into memory while others will sper me forward. I'm not healed, it doesn't work like that, but I'm strong, brave, forgiving, accepting, I'm ready to take on the next chapter of my life, to begin a new page. I'm excited for what comes next. Everyone you meet along the way ... read more

That feeling of being at home just grew and grew. When I listened to music and sat on a bean bag right on top of the deck I was surrounded by the buildings of Catageran city, It felt somehow a lot like my favourite place in London, south bank. The sun peaked though the shinny glass buildings and lit up the sky hundreds of different shades of red, orange and yellow. As people began rising and making their way on to deck there was an atmosphere in the air, our journey was ending, our time together finished. Luckily most of us had booked into the same hostel in the old town and that same night as we wandered up to met the crew at Trinadad Sq we were all suddenly together again. I knew I would ... read more

I'm struggling to even find the words to discribe the last five days of my life, there were so many moments of pure clarity but also minutes of confusion and pain, but as I was constantly stimulated these passed pretty quickly. Put 22 people on a 35 foot yaucht for five days and watch as relationships are created, alliances formed, minds opened, hearts spilled. It may be easier to set the scene by introducing the characters first... The only natural start here would be the all accommodating captain Yuyu, he immediately gained trust with his gentle demeanour and confident knowledge. As he introduced us to the rest of the crew, Marie the most flexible chef ever! Jolanda her quiet assistant and Orson a local Colombian who was Yuyu's second in command. Then came the guests, an ... read more

As I slipped I almost has time to plan my fall, almost but not quite. Luckily this peticuilar waterfall was not that tall and although it bruised instantly after a quick shake and a capture of my breath I was able to hike on... After leaving the surf camp and traveling to Panama via Costa Rica I wasn't inspired to write, Costa Rica was unexpectedly gloomy. After issues at the border and miscommunication at the bus station I was relived to arrive in Tamirindo and spend a few days with Sophie's mum and brother. We began our journey though Costa Rica on a 5am bus to San Jose, not at all what we were expecting we soon escaped to Purto veijo and over the border to Panama and Bocas del toro. We were re joined on ... read more

Tumbling in a wave, being tossed and turned, dragged and pushed, held down and throw up... Those seconds maybe a minute under the water, are worth that moment of feeling the surge of the wave and standing up on your surf board. I have always watched surfers in awe, I am in love with the ocean and to be able to travel on a wave is almost like flying on the sea.The amazing thing about traveling is that you met people who change your direction, I luckily met Iris a few weeks ago after a beach party, we then met again in San Juan Del Sur where she told me she was heading to a surf and yoga camp for a week. With no day to day plans only a destination in mind I emailed them ... read more

Getting back into the water again after five years land bound was actually pretty scary. I have realised on this trip how age and experience has effected my fear tolerance. No longer am I that young fearless girl who jumps from obscene heights or chooses the sketchy ladder over the stairs. I have noticed that somehow I have begun to tread more carefully, trust less often and be afraid more than usual. This has defiantly changed the path I follow, as I choose not to jump of a broken rusty bridge into the free flowing river below or not to trust the rope swing with my weight I wonder if I am missing out or if I am just growing up?! I didn't really think when I signed up for my PADI Advanced open water about ... read more

After the first few days of pissing around and getting drunk we began to get serious in San Pedro and find ourselves a Spanish school. Following in the footsteps of some of our best friends we sort out the Language hub, signing up for a week we moved into their rooms. Although a fun experience with great people, I smuggled to learn in that environment, there didn't seem to be a structure, planning, end game. Grammar was throw at me left right and centre and after every 4 hour session I would feel exhausted and angry with myself, on top of this I would dread sleeping in our room which smelt of damp and was filled with bugs. All in all it was time to move on. So we found a new school moved into a ... read more

I miss crawling into bed together and holding each other until sunset. I miss knowing what each other thinks and hopes before even discussing the issue. I miss the peace his reassuring hand gives me. I miss him. I miss closeness, I miss love... but I hate love. I'm confused and lost and searching.... I'm hoping and praying and discovering. I'm lost I'm raw I'm here I insist I'm confused I don't work alone I'm lonely I am me. Ayúdame por favor ... read more

Have you ever stood in the breeze up a hill and stared at the sky, those moments of Devine peace when you exhale pain and inhale forgiveness. Just 20 minutes out of Antigua town I stand, gazing at the full moon, Fuego volcano erupting in the back ground, Venus and Jupiter alining in the sky above us. The calm, the energy, it blew me away. Those once in a lifetime experiences are why I travel, there where I find my release. Never have I seen the earths core blowing out of an active volcano, I mean how many people actually experience these things. It makes you wonder suddenly, how varst and insane Mother Earth truly is. How beautiful, how unexplainable. Our inner emotions, our daily struggle peril in insignificance when the sky, the moon, the stars, ... read more
