Finally we got out of Agra! But with a massive change of plans though, instead of going to Khajuraho trying to get to Varanasi we ended booking the only train out to Allahabad for one night after three stuck in Agra. Over the north of India there is a massive fog that is covering the whole area so trains, planes and anything else that helps to move people is cancelled mostly all the time. So after the taxi to Agra and a little sleep we headed out to do some exploring and found out to do a nice day trip to an abandoned city 40k away. It is a fortified ancient city and called Fatehpur Sikri and got a old local bus out to the area. We had no idea what to expect but we were ... read more

Asia » India » National Capital Territory » New Delhi January 22nd 2010

We have arrived here in New Delhi in a massive cloud of smog. We were very surprised to land actually in the end since we could not even see the ends of the plane wings. The pilot even said that we may need to divert to Mumbai which would be really annoying but it was all good. Getting from the airport to our host was the usual challenge with it taking over an hour or so and getting lost plenty of times and with the unbelievable thick fog we could not see the side of the road either, he wanted more money and also ripped us of when going through a tollway but it is expected here. Sleeping for a couple of hours on arrival we were welcomed with our first curry experience for brekki and ... read more

Europe » France » Paris January 9th 2010

Our trip to Paris was absolutely fantastic.. Everything went so well for us from our host to the things we wanted to see during our five nights. We arrived late in the day and it was ok since our host, Christophe, was working late as he did for most days so we went right to his place and we had a warm welcome with some wine and turned out to be a late night. The next morning we walked into the city (Christophe lives in a perfect spot) via the arch de Triumph before heading to a lookout over the Eiffel Tower which had some great view! It was a busy day and people were all over the place, well with New Years only a few days away it was always going to happen. We had ... read more

Europe » Sweden January 2nd 2010

Our time in Sweden was nothing more than perfect! Aswome food, weather (even though it was -20 at times) and company.. We arrived over ten days ago and were welcomed by not only Ingrida and Anders but also a nice blizzard was waiting for our arrival as well which made the flight most interesting indeed! We were hoping for snow this year and a white Christmas and we got that and more, a lot more. We don’t think a day went past when we did not get some snow during the day. After spending the night at Katrineholm with Ingrida and Anders we headed to Stockholm to visit some friends and to also try and organize my visa problems that we was having for our India trip and still we had no luck at day 50 ... read more

Europe » Lithuania » Vilnius December 15th 2009

So it has been over two months now living here in Vilnius and time to write what we have been up to for this time. Firstly we are already into our second apartment, the first place we were staying was with an Lithuanian guy who had a contract until May or something which was perfect but he had lost his job a few weeks back along with now 16% of the nation, exactly one year ago it was at 4% unemployment, hard times here at the moment. But anyway we had no worries about finding a new place and this time we are living by ourselves only a couple minute walk from Diana’s uni so it is perfect. We have had our one year anniversary on the 28th October, out for dinner and a fun day ... read more

It was time to be heading to NSW and into the country side we went. Has anyone heard of the 'Water Fall' way? Well it is a fantastic drive from Byron Bay heading towards Tamworth and of course there are waterfalls all along the way drrrrr. Although this was not the only thing along the way we had an encounter with, Diana soooo very close to treading on a Tiger Snake! We were in the middle of know where on the way to check out one of the waterfalls and we were walking along and I pushed her into the grass having fun and a stick broke and she thought it was a snake and we had a laugh... Next thing I know less than three seconds latter Diana is walking backwards looking at me still ... read more

Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Cairns September 2nd 2009

Packed adventure is what happened in Queensland for us during our time there. For around two weeks it was full on with things to do and we had such a great time there, after getting of the plane, three hours later we were doing a bungee jump, next morning we were flying around in a hot air balloon, next morning was water rafting and it kept going. The White Water Rafting for me was a massive highlight of the trip, it was just so much fun to go flyinh own the rapids, tipping over and then floating down the river although Diana has a different opinion of course :) Bungee jump I was crapping myself the whole time but glad I did, I went there to do it a few years ago but didn't end up ... read more

Oceania » Australia » Tasmania August 12th 2009

It had been several months since Diana and I had seen each other and she had decided to come for a visit for a month to meet the family and also have a look at where I am from and other parts of Australia. We spent three nights in Melbourne with Weeda and Boss before flying to Tassie for a week. First stop in Tassie was home but only there for two nights to show Diana around and she was able to meet my friends and go for a nice meal as well. Not too much to see around Scottsdale so we headed away.. We also went and stayed with the now extended family, Kramer, Eve and Bella in Hobart. Oh we had such a great massive meal in Salamanca Market place! For the afternoon we ... read more

It had been way to long since i had seen Diana so we decided that I go over for a visit for a little time, only 10 days I could go there for though but it was well worth the effort. Diana had organised a trip to the costal town of Palanga for two nights and it is sort of the tourist town of the country and gets very busy in the summer. Great to go there and have a relax though and look around. Other things we did was go to the famous Trakai and it did not dissapoint. We went with some friends of Diana who were greatful enough to take us there for the day. It was good to go and have a look around Vilnius since I am moving there latter in ... read more

Africa » Tanzania February 5th 2009

We landed in Kilimanjaro International Airport, after Kenya Airport it was a paradise to land in big and nice airport. The air was stifling and it took time to use to it. The airport personal helped us to fix our tourist visa for Tanzania, they were friendly and nice, but some of them just wanted get money for nothing. We were staying in Arusha with our friends who have a fantastic place there. The place is like a hotel for tourists and it is called “Karibu Home”. Nice people, food, service… I warmly recommend staying there if you have the opportunity to stay in this amazing city. Arusha is a wonderful corner of the world. It is really big contrast from Sweden. The culture is absolutely different. I really liked that people, they are relaxed and ... read more
