It had been several months since Diana and I had seen each other and she had decided to come for a visit for a month to meet the family and also have a look at where I am from and other parts of Australia. We spent three nights in Melbourne with Weeda and Boss before flying to Tassie for a week.
First stop in Tassie was home but only there for two nights to show Diana around and she was able to meet my friends and go for a nice meal as well. Not too much to see around Scottsdale so we headed away..
We also went and stayed with the now extended family, Kramer, Eve and Bella in Hobart. Oh we had such a great massive meal in Salamanca Market place! For the afternoon we headed up to freezing Mt Wellington and had some magnificent views, there was not a cloud in the sky and could see for miles around south Tassie. Just a pitty that it was freezing and we were not out for to long. Diana had her first fish & chips at Kramers that night, very fresh is what you get with Tassie.
Up
the East Coast we headed next and first stop we came across by accident was the Tasmanian Devil Park.. We timed it very well arriving there since they put on a fantastic show for us! It was feeding time and they went crazy of course, running around, fights, very funny! There was also lots of different animals to see here but we didn't have much more time since we still had to move onto Port Arthur today. This is the convict place of Tasmania where most of the really nice people in England were sent, also from Ireland, to do their time. It was very interesting and we had some fun, Diana chaining herself up like a convict and running around the place. Also there is a nice boat cruise to do that goes for around an hour or so.
Our second last day in Tasmania was spent mostly at Freycinet NP. Of course we went to see Wineglass Bay and we got lucky today! The sun was out for this time of year and hot after doing the walk around the park. It is my first time here also, typical really.. One of the most famous beaches in
the world is 2 hour drive away but I go travelling the world before I go to this place. Anyway it was really amazing place to see and glad we made the effort to do the whole walk around the bay..
Next time we come to Tasmania we will need to spend a lot more time here, it is a small place but there is so much to see and do in Tasmania. It will be summer next time we go there together so more hiking will be going on of course.
Plenty of other things we did as well, eating all the time mostly but had a great time there..
