Hey all, well we made it to Ayuthaya! on the train, we kind of miss judged the train times from the station and ended up with a 3 hour wait, never mind, made it! Just 2 hours away is Ayuthaya the old capital city of thailand before the burmese smashed it up about 200 years ago in civil war. Anyway...its very very hot here, and its hard work. We rented bikes today and yesterday to get around (about 1.50 pound a day each! ) and this was def the way to travel. we were able to visit all the "wats" (temples) and they were amazing! all ruins but still impressive, also we saw one of the massive reclining budda's ( about 50m long and 20m high). We also saw one of the biggest sitting gold budda ... read more

Elephant riding. What more can I say? It was just the most amazing experience! We visited the Elephant Conservation Centre near Lampang, northern Thailand today. As some of you may know, the elephant happens to be my favourite animal, therefore this was especially exciting for me. Firstly, we watched the elephants bathe, with their trainers scrubbing at them until they were squeaky clean (well, relatively less smelly at any rate!). Then they were put through their paces, showing the mesmerised audience (ok, so admittedly it was mainly me who was 'ooh-ing' and 'aah-ing') of tourists how smart this large land mammal is. Highlights included an elephant race, playing the xylophone, staping on inflated balloons to pop them, and elephant painting!! Naturally, these are all behaviours that would be displayed in the wild... But anyway, this one ... read more

Yay, my new room mate, Amy has arrived! I went to uni with Amy in Adelaide. After I got the job in Japan, I pestered all my uni friends to apply so I wouldn't be a loner in Japan! Amy was the only one who went through with it all and is now finally here! I am so excited to have a friend here, it will be a great year, I'm really looking forward to it! ... read more

Hallo allemaal Vanmiddag vanuit Cambodja weer in BKK aangekomen.

Saturday I went down to Bangalore to visit my "auntie" (who got her PhD in Hawai'i and whom I have seen since 1987). It's funny how you can not at all realize how important someone is until you see how other people look at him/her. My auntie is the Additional Chief Secretary of Karnataka State. It's a long title that essentially means she's the second in command of the state. And here I come waltzing in and calling her Auntie. She took me to see the Mysore Palace, which is not only beautiful, but surprisingly well preserved. Mysore was a three hour drive from Bangalore (we took a government car with a light on the top) and after my huge Andhra thali plate, the swervy, bumpy night ride did me no favors. As soon as we ... read more

OK , so the lads are together on holiday doing what lads do best: Drinking and womanising basically!!! Ended up back in Phnom Penh and have found ourselves unable to leave as all the buses leave around 7/8 am and quite frankly we dont see daylight at the minute until 3 pm!!! Spent our first day back here doing some shooting at what is probably a very highly illegal shooting range!! Not quite air pellet guns or clay pigeon shooting: This is Cambodia so not a problem for AK47 Machine Guns and Colt 45s!!!! Didnt splash out on the rocket launcher at $200 a pop nor the hand grenades at $50 each though. As we thought that would just be highly irresponsible. Then it was off to the killing fields to see the mass graves and hundreds ... read more

Hey,I recently went to Dreamworld a theme-park on the outskirts of Bangkok with Ou and her kid's.It was on a Friday so it gave me chance to do something other then sleeping or spending all day hungover."OOP'S" too late and after getting only 5hrs kip we were on our way to the park.Sitting in the front seat with the girl's singing in the back didn't go down to well and the urge to throw up all over the dash board was something I couldn't do,even if I tried.I knew when I got there a couple of rides would pump the adrenalin around my knackered body and I'd be sorted. The three girl's Yok,Mine and Jan were really excited and I wanted them to have a good day out so it didn't take long to get into the ... read more

I hope you enjoyed the pictures from Ko Phangan because I lost camera #2 a couple days ago. I think I left it at a restaraunt but they said they never found it. So it's too bad but I'm not buying another goddamn camera. No more pictures I guess. Anyway, I finished my advanced open water diving course. It was so much better than the beginner course. I really don't think your diving experience is complete until you are allowed to go down to 30 meters. That was awesome! There were so many more fish. And last night our last dive was at night. So they give you this flashlight and you go down totally freaked out. But it turned out to be my favorite dive. It was actually really peaceful being down there in ... read more
