A beautiful creation of mughal emparor 'Tajmahal' in memory of his wife Mumtaj Mahal.

The garden and other surrounding building completed after five years. It too long time for creation of this monument. It is Combination of different type of architecture like the interior part of this used the earlier Mughal architecture, Persian architecture. The Specific inspiration came from successful Timurid and Mughal buildings including.
Emperor Shah Jahan himself described the Taj in these words:
Should guilty seek asylum here,
Like one pardoned, he becomes free from sin.
Should a sinner make his way to this mansion,
All his past sins are to be washed away.
The sight of this mansion creates sorrowing sighs;
And the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes.
In this world this edifice has been made;
To display thereby the creator's glory.

Reply to this In my opinion the Taj Mahal is purely a symbol of Love of a man for his consort and of a man for the eternity. A man who was so much bereaved on the loss of his wife that he kept himself away from the routine course of his life and had no respite. He fulfilled the promise given to his wife at the time of her demise by attributing the Taj to her.
