The final three days of our North Western AUS trip. A safari tent awaited us at the far tip of Cape Leveque - 4 hours drive up a dirt track from Broome. A track which car hire companies will not permit you to drive up. The solution was a lift on the mail run! Twice a week Cora, the outback postlady, and her dog George, leave Broome at 0400 and make the trip to the Cape, via deliveries in the Aboriginal communities of Beagle Bay and One Arm Point. 0400 is a bit of an early start, and Cora is something of 'a character', but it was worth it! Cape Leveque was spectacular. Our tent (more of a palace, really) was on a hillside and we watched the sun rise over the sea on one side ... read more

We messed up with Alice Springs when we scheduled our itinerary. Given that the Uluru and Kings Canyon tour would take the whole of three days (see ), it left only a few hours each side of it to look round Alice Springs. Unlike Darwin (see ) that was no where near enough time, sadly. When we first arrived it was starting to get late in the afternoon and most of the key places were closed or closing. We went though the Todd Street Mall and checked out a few shops. We then climbed Anzac Hill, where we had timed it perfectly for the sunset. We also managed to see Adelaide House, the Old Court House and the Stuart Town Gaol, albeit from the outside only as they were closed. We would need to cover a ... read more

What a fabulous week we've had. I keep thinking it doesn't get any better and then all my expectations are surpassed again! We travelled from Townsville down to the Whitsunday islands, actually staying at Airlie Beach which is the "Gateway" to the islands. We stayed on a Big4 campsite again this time as they are such great places for kids with playparks, swimming pools, jumping pillows etc so it allows Kiera to make a few friends and gives us a bit of a break entertaining her. We arrived on the Friday night and had to make a rapid decision in 15 minutes (not hard for hasty decision me) as to whether to go on a trip to the Barrier Reef the next day, thereby getting a free trip to a couple of the islands on the ... read more

Alas, it is the end of our 4 week tour of western australia and northern territory and we have now said our goodbyes to the fantastic 007 wicked campervan which we have lived in for the last 28 days and travelled 6,500 kilometres! (that's approx 3,900 miles!!) this week... left the exciting turkey creek roadhouse aka "Turkey World", stocked up on beer in kununurra, crossed over the western australia border into northern territory. passed katherine - just really stopped for supplies and tourist info before hitting the road again douglas hotsprings was amazing. it has 2 streams - one of which is about 60 degrees and the other is really cold and there is a point where the two meet and you can regulate the temperature you would like to laze about in - fantastic but ... read more

Hello again! Seems like a long time since we last posted a message and we have a lot to catch up on! We arrived at Magnetic Island on Monday safe and sound after an unplanned trip around the island on the local bus service, which sped around in the pitch black for 20 minutes around narrow roads with sheer drops. People were being let off at various resorts until finally we were told it was the end of the line and we were the only ones left sitting there going 'errrrrr, what do we do?'. Thankfully the bus driver was very nice and agreed to take us to our hostel on the way back. After checking in we thought we would go and looke around the local area for something to eat. Unfortunately Magnet Island closes ... read more

We found our Little traveller at Brisbane , He was from a Maltese and Poodle breeder from Kingaroy, She advertised in the Brisso Papers then drove 3 hours with the puppies to the buyers. This ensured that our mate would be held in good stead for the trek, not cleaning up doggy fluids regulary was a pre requisite for us. We love this guy, he has been with us for 5 1/2 months, and he has slotted in perfectly, most people whom he encounters notice that he has an old soul, He now officially by default runs the motorhome and we are staff , ( I guess the old soul is where he gets his cunning from ).... He has a sheep skin front seat , seat belt , bedroom and favourite toys that he drags ... read more

No niin, viela taalla BNEssa.. Sain tana aamuna hankittua paikallisen puh liittyman, numero on (sori, mokasin viime kerralla, jos olet tallettanut edellisen numeron jonka typetin tahan pyyhi pois) siis 04 315 000 92 eli tuota kautta kannattaa tasta lahtien yrittaa yhteytta, en ole varma pitaako siihen lisata suomesta tekstattaessa/soittaessa joku maakohtainen koodi, mutta en usko. Kokeilemallahan se selviaa. Tanaan sain jopa nukuttua suht hyvin, meita on 16 yhdessa huoneessa joka on jaatavan kylma. Eilen tajusin etta vastaanotosta on saatavilla peittoja eika tarvinnut palella aivan koko yota.
