april 6, 2011. major marketing upgrade for flagoz sticker and other items with flagoz design. it's taken ten years but i finally figured out that the word 'australia' on the sticker in blue can be made oh so much more powerful by doing the letters in red, green and gold. this can now be seen on flagoz on facebook with the first pictures taken of supporters holding the poster version. i will also change the word 'flagoz' from green to blue. perfect! ... read more
11-2-11. with over 270 photos posted on flagoz on facebook, the gallery of supporters has just begun. planning trip to top end in august so that will be ample opportunity to get support in the territory. when i think of all the wonderful people i met in my three years on the road, i'm sad i didn't have my camera going. never envisioned the power of facebook. neither did tunisia or mubarak. ... read more

8-12-10. grrrrrrrr. seems no clothing this summer. who knows. why does this all have to be so hard? everybody who saw the file thought they were terrific. otherwise i have printed a poster which i can do at the library A3 size for 50cents. now have 15 cafes and other locations with the poster. happy holidays to all. cheers, fred... read more
22-11-10. hi all still waiting for clothing to happen. hopefully january. real news is that i'm doing facebook which allows for visual posts. anybody wanting to receive them can be 'friends' to fred rieben. i've done some lampoons of gillard, swan and rudd in front of the british flag and posted photos of our wine 'republic red'. hopefully will get more ideas for cartoons. taking more video footage and hope to create the next vox pop utube (see new australian flag). still think the first is good. next will include two aussie military blokes saying they like and want the new flag. expect the royal wedding to stir debate. will also be prime material for lampooning monarchy.... read more

7-11-10. must be my lucky day. got my seniors card and thought to ride the train for free to perth and back. parked in swanbourne but found the train wasn't running, under repair. repaired to peppy grove we're now the second richest people on earth. and second in quality of life after norway. the parity dollar now being one yankee dollar. strolled into breakfast in the park ending leaving lots of fruit cups and upmarket snags. sunshine. light clouds on a cool spring day. met several who knew me and yarned of times past. mega support for flag. wandered to yacht club where 'sail free' was in progress so i hopped on for a toodle around the bay jib only. mother and two daughters, she was totally taken by flag. i'm now wandering with my bloggie ... read more

oct 7,2010. momentum gaining. video now viewable on flagoz.com click on youtube. tom and i spent three hours yesterday cutting form the clips i'd done into a three minute collection of vox pop and flag waving. very exciting and rewarding that i've done it at last. this of course is just the beginning. i'm preparing the script for the 'chant'. it will feature a dinner scene of a couple with 'republic red' wine. she'll read the back label about the chant and he'll ravish her arm like morticia's husband in 'the munsters' tv series. then a fade to her dream where the announcer (denis cometti?, hosting rugby. it is a dream) says the aussies are going to do their world famous chant after the kiwi haka. then the chant and a fade back to the dinner ... read more
sept 18, 10. latest news: found out on wednesday that i have been getting only some of the emails sent to me. of course i was distressed and wondered who had been missed or who had been snubbed by non-reply. then on thursday at the cottesloe pub jos from 'ocean zone', the surf clothing label that had been interested in putting the flag on assorted clothing items, came up and said what had happened? they had emailed me with the licensing contract and i hadn't received it. i had thought that they had decided not to proceed. they had thought the same of me!!! anyhow after a month of nothing we're back on track. this is GREAT NEWS. you'll all be able to wear 'southern cross and boomerang' on board shorts and t-shirts. and of course ... read more
