Campervan Hire Ultimate Road Trip!

Planning on driving a loop: Sydney>Brisbane>Alice Springs>Melbourne>Sydney and all points in-between. I've been looking up Campervan hire deals for mid-April and was wondering if anyone else has had good experience with this.

Its quite a road trip over 4 weeks, 7000km. I've been told I'm crazy for trying to go that distance in that short of time, but I'm from Canada, we're used to driving extreme distance here!

I have had a good quote from Camper Travel Australia, its $61/day for a Budget Hi-Top (Toyota Hi-Ace). The cost includes a $500 excess, which is fairly good compared to other suppliers who quoted $51/day with a $7500 excess. I think its worth it for the lower liability. Other companies have up to $50/day extra to lower the liability.

Has anyone had experience with Camper Travel Australia? Is this a good company or is this some sort of catch with the good pricing? I figure as I only have 4 weeks, its not worth it to hang around in Sydney, trying to find a van to buy/sell.

Thanks for the help!
