I need some ideas for the perfect Fiji holiday.
Hi, i\'m planning a trip to Fiji and i need some help! I plan on visiting some of the villages, island tours, and a bit of fun and sun. can anyone suggest \"must see\" destinations and things to do besides the usual tourist stuff? any help would be greatly appreciated!

I moved this to the Oceania Forum.
Here is where those with information about fiji will likely be looking.

Reply to this Yasawa islands are a must. The beaches are spectacular and the people are very friendly and they usually offer village tours. In fiji you've got contrasting ways of experiencing it. There's Beachcomber island which are known for being a party island, attract a young-middle age crowd, and have delicious breakie/lunch/dinner buffets. Its rather small but all you'll want in the way of things to do on the beach, fish feeding, mini-golf, and drinking games at night are all there to garantee a fun time (I've been there 4 times). Then you've got the remote little hostels on the islands which offer a more tranquil, relaxing, experience with fun activities during the day and mouth watering fijian dinner with a cold Fiji bitter or tropical cocktail to match it in the evenings.
Let me know what you have in mind exactly and I can fill you in on what to see and what to miss.

Reply to this A few years late, But for future travelers..On Fiji's 2nd largest Island (Vanua Levu) there is a small place called Salt Lake Lodge. This is the most private comfortable resort in Fiji. It sits on the river, a 5 minute boat ride up the river puts you into a basically private 100 acre salt lake, 5 minutes the other direction leaves you in the Koro sea. Fishing at this Lodge is nothing short of amazing where it wasn't uncommon to pull 10lbs red snapper (damu) out of the river right from your private beach. A great family resort and fantastic fishing destination.
Reply to this Fiji is considered to be one of the most idealic places in the area to many, I would get to the beach and find a hammock with some nearby localities including good food & restaurants. I find tripadvisor to be a good indicator to be wheres hot or not with some upbeat people will always come upbeat living.
