viiminen päivä tällä viikolla töissä! jee!!! mä olin Diabetesklinikalla kuuntelemassa ryhmäneuvontaa sekä sitten yksilöllistä ohjausta. Oli ihan mukavaa! Ja Minna seuraili kemoterapian tapahtumia. Se oli saannu pyyhkeen joltain lääkefirman edustajalta. Epistä!! Minna saa aina kaikkee kivaa... :/ Sit mentiin keskustaan ostaan niitä Rolling Stonesin lippuja. Iltapalaks haettiin pizzaa. Nami nami!!... read more

MORE PHOTOS TO COME. THIS COMPUTER IS REALLY SLOW A really bad nights sleep because of the freezing cold was followed by a cold morning in the Blue Mountains. The walk to the abseiling centre didnt take long, then pretty much went straight to the moutains! Ian and Kam got us harnessed up, they quickly went through it all and off we went! ok, so it was only a 4 metre high rock but it was still new to me! we then practiced on a 20 meter cliff, then on the 30 meter cliff i managed to go upside down. Don't really know what happened there, it was just as i went off the top my legs seemed to give way! i didnt panick!! well...maybe a little. The harness hurt so much, i have bad bruises ... read more

Summary: I've been struggling (not that much) against north, north-easterlies as I'm crossing largish bays to Townsville (where are the south-east trade winds that are suppose to blow day and night in this area this time of year?). Day 61 Abbot Point There's a large pier here where they load coal. I don't think one is supposed to land here, but, the place look deserted, and the beach looked good, so I did. When I took off (at 2 in the morning), I did see some activity on the pier. Day 62 Cape Upstart On landing, I met the "mayor" of Cape Upstart - Andy (he kind of watches over the (mostly deserted) vacation homes on the cape. He invited me up for a meal of grilled stakes and onions - that sure hit the spot. ... read more

Thursday April 6th We didn’t do a lot today, as we were driving from Maroochy to Rockhampton. When we got to Rockhampton we stopped as “Sizzlers” which the Australian version of Ponderosa steak house. Food was ok, and most of all Wes ate a lot, which has been rare around here. More tomorrow! And so the journey began... Perth - Sydney After being in a total state of denial for so long I think it finally sunk in on take-off from home that I don't know when I will be looking back down on little Perth again. I didn't want to become a blubbering wreck on the plane though so pulled it together with only a few quiet tears gently consoled by the two leopard-skin clad women I was sitting between (don't ask) So even though I dont know when I will get back to the Island - this is just one big holiday and I am taking the long way home. L.A Airport I dont know what it is about me but I was swabbed for bomb residue, scanned, shoes removed and inspected (at which point i was ... read more

Today was my Day on the Great Barrier Reef. We went out to Mackay reef and there was only 5 divers on the boat so we had a small group and a superb time on the pristine reef. The coral colours were unbelievable and there was so many fish. My buddy, Helen, was so excited by it all! Had such a good day and the second dive was mind blowing. We dived at 'the Wall'. a big coral wall which seemed to glow with the colours and teemed with life. We saw another Mauri Wrasse like Elvis on the Whitsunday's. After all the excitement Helen and I decided to head out for tea...which meant we ate in the bar at the hostel! flashy! Met a random guy called Sam from Leeds with such a strong yorkshire ... read more

Have had a pretty good day today just doing some work during the day and at night I met a really nice english girl called caroline who is a cardiac nurse back home. She's travelling and working like me and will be living in melbourne for a few months as she is working in the local hospital. What is it about the Hampton sons and English nurses eh ??? I guess it must be the uniforms :)... read more

7.04.06~ Caught the bus over to Palm Beach today which is where they film Home & Away! Was really beautiful there and felt really strange to be sunbathing on the same beach we watch on telly! We sat and had an ice cream at the 'surf club' whilst keeping a good eye out for any glimpses of the stars..no such luck though! 10.04.06~Took a visit to the famous Bondi Beach this afternoon and spent a couple of hours enjoying our last little bit of sunshine before we head over to New Zealand! Met up with Wallis (from easyjet who i bumped into in Perth) at 6pm by the Opera house and then all headed over to 'Scruffy Murphys' Irish bar for a few jugs of Tooheys New! We got talking to 2 Irish guys-well more like ... read more

Carl Lynch was really good on Wednesday night, with a bit of a Jack Johnsony feel to his tunes. With another trip further north on the wonderful Premier bus awaiting us at 4:30pm the remainder of the day was spent jumping into the pool in a whole manner of various ways and styles, the best probably being a mid air high five with Matt who jumped from the opposite side of the pool slapping palms in mid air in the middle of the pool. The journey north is to a highly anticipated part of the trip to do Fraser Island from a bay called Hervey Bay. Bus journey was only a couple of hours so was nice and easy........ read more
