Adelaide City, oh so pretty...it's like a country town, nothing like Melbourne or Sydney. Alot smaller and prettier :) I'm staying with friends up in the hills. Their house is beautiful surrounded by 10 acres of land...with sheep, dogs, cats, chickens...and 2 wonderful children who I've been playing 'heads down thumbs up' with :) The couple who I'm staying with have also put me on the insurance of their car, so I've had the freedom to drive and explore adelaide. They're so kind to do that for me... The first day with the car I was quite nervous, as I hadn't driven in ages and had only really just passed my test...and the car is an automatic which I'm not used to either! Anyway, it was raining for the first day so I drove lots of ... read more

We have finally made it back to Melbourne... We had a wonderful three weeks of roughing it in our tent and are glad to be back here. It's sort of a home away from our home. Anyways, where do I begin? We flew into the gold coast airport which is in a small town called Coolongatta in Southern Queensland. We walked from the airport to our first caravan park that we stayed in and just stayed one night. It was a beautiful place, the beach was just that, golden and the sky so big. We decided to move further north the next day but only made it as far as Surfer's Paradise which we found to be a horrible place. It is very touristy up there with heaps of high rises and casinos and shopping centres ... read more

We have just arrived in Cairns after 2 beautiful nights in Uluru. It was an experience to say the least. We arrived on Monday afternoon and booked a sunset and sunrise tour of Uluru. It was absolutely baking, plus the flies were out in full force (I later learnt that having 30 flies or so on you was nothing, esp as you dont get a mouthful of then everytime you open your mouth!) I speedily bought a flynet for my head the best $6.50 I have ever spent and proceeded to enjoy the next 2 days without having to batter them from my face, apart from lunch time. We stayed at the Outback Pioneeer Hotel and Lodge, it was really nice there, would definately recommend- although you are fairly limite din choice when you get up ... read more

M... read more

Southern Curl Tour Day 1 - Perth to Dunsborogh (2 night stay) Day 3 - Dunsborough to Margaret River (4 night stay) Day 7 - Margaret River to Albany (1 night stay) Day 8 - Albany to Perth We got back Monday from our first tour and it was really, really good. Ive got so much to say and so many photos I really dont know where to start! We had a fab time on this tour, saw lots and lots of sights and took some real good photos. Another good thing about these tours is that you meet people really easily. We got talking to a German guy called Jonas (who we thought was English at first coz his accent is a perfect, posh English accent) a Sweadish girl called Jenny and a Canadian called ... read more

Our camper van extravaganza began in Broome where we quickly picked up the lingo including “throw a few prawns on the barbie”, as well as “streuth” and “bonza”, but the winning line was “flaming galaa”. We were greeted with extra humid weather with blue skies, which cunningly disguised what was in store for us…. After a chance listening to the radio we heard a murmur about a cyclone forming off the coast of Broome. After a suitable R&R, we decided to escape and head west from the oncoming CYCLONE GLENDA. We were soon laughing at our agility….but this was short lived as the cyclone followed us down the coast! Our escape options were severely restricted and with no path east or west we headed south into the Outback…to arrive at TOM PRICE the highest town in ... read more

Today was the first day of my cape tribulation adventure. I have 3 nights up there with a day on the barrier reef and a beach ride. Satarted bright and early this morning as we cruised north on the coast road. We crossed the daintree river by 'Crocodile-spotting-boat' seeing a big female with a collection of her young and a small male who was quite cute?! Next we headed up to the Mardja boardwalk in the rainforest and mangroves that meet there. We arrived at the accomodation at lunchtime so I had an afternoon to explore. I took a stroll from my hostel up to the cape and the lookout for the view over the beach and Rainforest which was spectacular. This place is very quiet in the evenings so had a nice early night and ... read more

Wednesday April 5th Lo from OZ! Late start today, as we’re all feeling a little burnt after the last few days of being really busy. But hell, we’re only 45 minutes away from Australia zoo, and its overcast, so we won’t get burnt any more! We do the short drive with ease, and pull into the zoo. Not too busy here yet…good! The first thing we see that there is a show at 12:00, so we rush over to the venue, and Steve isn’t doing the show…damn, well maybe later at the “agro” show. The show is pretty informative, and shows how the crocs strike in the wild, and they tell you where you should and shouldn’t go. You know crocs can swim 30 km an hour? I didn’t. They're also passionate lovers and very good ... read more

Day 1 - April 02 (567 km) We left home about 7am with a few tears and drove to Ararat for morning tea. We then drove to Bordertown for lunch. Arrived at Keith at 4 pm which wasn’t too bad going considering it was the kids first big drive. The activity books that you gave, Wendy have come in handy. Everytime I turned around Duane was doing it. Kiera has been watching some DVD’s and playing with her dolls. We lost a wheel cap on the caravan on the way to Keith so the van looks funny. To Wes and Amanda you will have to buy a bigger van as ours looks like a pimple compared to others. Gra decided to park next to a big fifth wheeler this night. Were we embarrassed!!! Duane was amazed ... read more
