+I've been living in the magic glow of impending holiday bliss for which has seemed longer than the gestational period of an elephant or an Alpine Black Salamander for that matter! One proposal (Matt to darling Louise) and 18 months later sees me almost prepared for my first major overseas travel in over 10 years..... This morning was a cold and frosty November morning, despite being May!! I few days ago I committed my first criminal offence, well apart from speeding. I took an apple across the state boundary from New South Wales to Victoria. Apparently you are not allowed to take any kind of fruit across the border. I quickly ate it to hide all evidence. My first stop today however was Melbourne Jail, although I don’t think it has been used for a very long time as it still has the noose for hanging people. After repenting my apple sins in a very small cell I went up the Rialto Tower. The highest office building in the Southern Hemisphere. Despite the haze across the city I got some good views. Once back on the ground I went for a ... read more

Melbourne City Centre is only 135km away from Phillip Island but the last 15km through the city took as long as the rest of the journey up here. Most of Melbourne’s major roads have a tram system cutting through the middle of them and consequently they have this very strange rule that if you want to turn right you have to get into the left hand lane and wait for…. Well, wait until the person in front of you goes than then you just follow very closely behind and hope your not going to get splatted by a tram. The city centre itself does not seem as appealing as either Sydney or Canberra. Once out of the main CBD there are some nice areas. The whole city doesn’t seem to fit together very well. Throughout the ... read more

Hey Gang Just had to get on t'internet and tell you about the great couple of days i have just had. All started yesterday when i completed my pilgrimage to Mecca... Okay so i went on the Neighbours set tour. Same difference. Got on the bus nicely painted with "Official Neighbours Tour" on the side so that everyone could point at the bus full of sad pomes. The driver kept us entertained on the way to "Erinsborough" with some music vids. Not just any music vids though - ex-neighbours star vids. We had everything from Kylie and Jason to Craig McLachlan and the twins (whose names i cant remember for the life of me). First stop was Erinsborough High School. Its actually a foreign language school but once they had the sign nicely hung it was ... read more

Hey all, we are back in Melborne! GEtting the bus late tonight, for like 10 hours overnight to adelaide - our last stop before flying to New Zealand. Sorry that the photos didnt load up yesterday, we will put them on again today - not sure what happened there! So, today we had loads and loads of fun! We went on the NEIGHBOURS tour!!! Noooo i hear you say, but you know you would if you had the chance! It was really cheesey and good fun, the bus was sooo discrete as you can see, and people kept laughing at us through the windows - we just waved and then they got embarrassed! So, after being entertained with neighbours music videos on the way to Erinsborough high, we arrived! It is actually a school for people ... read more

Hello all... Bet you've been wondering what we've been up to lately... ...Well we've driven 1,950 Km from Sydney to Melbourne and around about in the last 10 days! And now we've finally arrived in Melbourne... Rozi's driving didnt kill us and we managed not to wreck the hire car - so all is well!!! We succeded in negotiating our way out of Sydney and after a brief stop at the windy and grey Bondi Beach (just so we can say we've been there!) we headed up to the Blue Mountains, for a couple of days of sightseeing. Beautiful day when we got there - saw the 3 Sisters, an impressive rock formation with lovely views of the valley and mountains. The next day of course was completley foggy and you couldnt see past the end ... read more

Hey ho people Have just had quite possibly the craziest week in my life. When you hear the variety of stuff i have done then you will understand why. Let's start back in Sydney. I can't even remember which days i did what but i'll fill you in anyway. Did some celebrity spotting on the Manly Ferry. The old Horton guy from the Vicar of Dibley was on there - talk about A list. The ferry was pretty cool too especially as its way cheaper than a proper Harbour Cruise but you get to see all the same things, plus we came back from Manly as the sun was setting so we got great views of the bridge and opera house at sunset. Speaking of celebrities, we had lunch outside Russell Crowes house at the world ... read more

Hi Guys, yesterday I decided to go for a wonder around Melbourne, Will decided to stay at home, sadly for him he missed out on 'The birth of Sakyamuni Budha and multicultural festival' which was held in federation square. It was quite a simple event but I found it interesting and really beautiful to look at. Lots of people waited to pay their respects to Budha, either by lighting incense, making a small donation and ringing a large bell, or simply praying at the feet of the budha monument. I found out that his mother, Queen Maya was told nearly a year before the birth of her son that she would be blessed with a son, the premernition came to the lady that told her in a dream. Soon after Prince Sakyamuni was born and Queen ... read more

Hi all, First of all let us tell you about a rather unfortunate experience this morning.... after days of pondering whether to dye my hair (Amanda that is, not chris oh bearded one) made the decision to do it this morning. To my horror ... and Chris' it has actualy turned out a rather tomato soup ginger colour - total devestation. So, drama over, will jsut have to deal with it and wear a hat continuosly, but just thought that we woudl warn you before any shocking photos appear. So, today we explored Melbourne a bit. 15 minutes walk and we were in the city centre, must say its just a massive city with modern buildings etc. We did manage to find amusemnt down on the southbank with one of those water jet features which shooot ... read more

I feel so ashamed. So terribly, terribly ashamed. Ive let you all down. Im not sure I can ever hold my head up in British Barbecuing circles again. Why, you might ask? My tale of shame begins when we bought a kettle barbie for two, as in the van with only a microwave and gas hob the cooking choices are a bit limited. As the night drew in at our woodland campsite i took my shiny new barbie and smokeless bricketts out of the van and began the process of lighting them. Two juicy steaks sat waiting for the flames. They waited as I ignited the firelighters. They waited as i ignited the second lot. They waited as I fanned, blew, swore and blew again. They even sat idly by as a lady from the next ... read more
