Hello and welcome to the latest and last instalment of Jonnys ozzie adventure. It is tinged with happiness from having such a fantastic time in Australia, sadness from England's exit in the World Cup, and excitement with the prospect of fun in New Zealand. Hope the blog encapulates all these!!! Unlikely! Since the last edition of Jonnys ozzie adventures I have mainly been spending my time in and around Melbourne. We arrived in the coldest few weeks of the year for Melbournians, so when I head its 30degrees back home its a bit like "bloody hell why are we hear"! That lasted for about a day though as Melbourne is a great city and very charismatic (I hear you ask how can a city be charismatic- I dont know to be honest but it sounds good!). ... read more

G'day Mate ;) Since the day I was accepted into the Study Abroad program to Australia, I have been so excited to go. I never thought the day would come and sure enough, July 5th, 2006 rolled around. After packing up all of my clothes and important items we rushed to the airport (because I always wait until the last minute). As I hugged my mom I could tell she was holding back her tears. I hugged my dad, gave him the "Secret Hand Shake" (A few of you lucky ones there know how to do that), and then left for my gate. I arrived as they were boarding the plane, I didn't even have any time to call the people I wanted to call and just relax. I boarded my first flight, which would take ... read more

It's official: World Cup fever is in full flow down under. We arrived in the Sports Capital of Australia (Melbournians would suggest the World) on 20th June and a lot of our time has been spent watching the beautiful game at crazy o'clock in the morning. Our first day involved a lot of sleeping due to the fact we'd been on a night bus from Canberra and were absolutely knackered Me, Bully and will managed to catch the free tourist bus around the city though which takes in a lot of the main sites and gives advice on what to do in Melbourne. We also had a look in the famous Queen Victorian Market, which was really near our hostel. You should note that Melbourne is in the state of Victoria so when I say Victorian ... read more

Melbourne has been amazing. It's such a cosmopolitan city but with a laid back vibe too. We have stayed in 3 or 4 different hostels (on average about 8-9 pounds a night), and eventually settled in a really friendly one where we've met a few lovely people. Our first week was spent exploring the many cafe's, shops, bars, galleries, museums, markets and parks. There's so many that we still haven't found them all. In one of the biggest parks, Carlton Gardens, we took some crackers up after dark and fed lots of Possums - they're curious fellas - or maybe just hungry. The transport links here are amazing. There is a free tram that circles the city - so living in the centre can really benefit - free transport! There has been so much money ... read more

Helloo there everyone... This week we have mostly been in Melbourne, sampling the sights and sounds and munch in this funky city :) Melbourne is cool and small enough to get about the whole of the city centre on foot, or if you're lazy like us - on the tram (once youve figured out which one you want and where the hell its going!) Theres lots of shopping, museums and yummy places to eat - like the chocolate heaven that is Max Brenners Chocolate Cafe! Must have been in there about 3 times so far this week - the best hot chocolate and cakes and puddings ever...all served with a lil pot of melted chocolate for you to dip into! Mmmmm...there are giant 10 kg slabs of dark, white and milk chocolate around the cafe - ... read more

Vo visitor centre sme dostali kopec informacie, co sa tyka turistickych atrakcii v ... read more
