Hello All Went to Kakadu National Park for a two day tour. Took ages to get there, and lots of the park are shut because of the flooding. The park is the size of Wales so you can imagine how big it is. thankfully there are less Welsh!! There has been loads of water here and the flooding is vast. Most of the waterfalls including Jim Jim falls are unreachable. We drove past the area where a cyclone hit a few days before. Trees were uprooted everywhere. We watched the jumping crocs on the Adalaide river which was really good. We saw one salt water crocodile named Hannibal who was 5 metres long!! it was huge. I got some good pictures on him. I also held a baby python, a flaming gala and a blue tongue ... read more

Still here in Darwin. Went to Litchfield National Park the other day, it was great. The waterfalls were amazing and we got to swim in two of the sites. One was Buley Rock hole and the other was Florence Falls. We saw the famous Wangi falls which was quite big and saw a baby fresh water croc! Also encountered a wallaby and two rock wallabys. No snakes as of yet. St Patricks day yesterday. Started in the pub at 4 in the afternoon. James drunk loads, and was still standing by the end of it, although we did find him sleeping outside our hostel room. It was a good evening, with lots of guinness. James drunk enough for a free wig and T-shirt. I am sure many pictures will appear on his blog. Went to the ... read more

Once i had dropped off my bag at the hotel, i decided to go have a look around and get something to eat. There was a mall i saw close to the hotel so i walked to it and had a look in some of the shops. When i was heading back to the hotel, there were loads of women and ladyboys on the streets which freaked me out a bit so i pretty much legged it back to the hotel in fear. We headed out for a meal by the beach and the streets were heaving with tourists and people trying to get you to buy stuff. We wanted to watch the reading/arsenal game and kate wanted to find a place called eddie's bar. When we finally got to eddie's bar, they weren't selling beer ... read more

Hi Guys, We made it to Darwin okay, despite a little turbulence on the plane as we flew through the middle of a good old Territory lightning storm. We're missing you all already, so we've been drowning our sorrows in the bottle since we arrived. We spent Friday night at Discovery, think hot pants and beer guts, i'm sure Tomma can inform you all of just how hip and happenin' Darwins only nightclub is, if you can't tell from the photo. St. Paddy's Day in town was fun, we did a bit of a crawl down Mitchell St, wound up in the Vic in the early hours of this morning being serenaded by the one and only Damien from the Biggest Loser. he's looking pretty slim and sexy, i think Niki has found a replacement boyfriend ... read more

16 Mar - Nice day today. Should have gone snorkeling today. Went up to the huge shopping centre to check things out. There were over 180 stores and they all all very different from the stores in Canada. 17 Mar - Went on our Great Barrier Reef snorkeling trip today. We really should have gone yesterday. It was cloudy and rained most of the afternoon. We had a 1 1/2 catamaran boat ride out to the reef. We went snorkleling and saw some great coral and fish. It was a bit merly due to the cyclones and not too bright due to the clouds but it was nice. Went for a mini-sub ride and saw different reefs - the coral was much more dramatic than that where we swam and more fish. We even saw a ... read more

Made it to Australia!! Very exciting. We are staying in a hostel on Cavanaugh street. Its exactly what we were after. All sharing the same room with shower and fridge. Its cheap as chips and we have even bought cereal and milk for lunch to cut costs. Its quite warm, around 32 degrees. Just going to log off to save money, than log on again. Bare with me! Ok im back. We have booked a two day tour to Kakadu National Park for next week which i am really looking forward to. We will be doing lots of hiking which will be cool and swiming in waterfall pools. We booked the tour and got a days tour to Litchfield National Park for free. Its the rainy season at the moment and a lot of the parks ... read more

At long last this is my highly anticipated first blog. The first three weeks have been pretty good, been to thailand which was good but i was glad when we left. I didn't really like Bangkok, bit too hot, crowded and full of annoying thai people trying to sell you stuff or get you to ride tuk tuks. Food was good though, had phad thai the first night we were there and it was awesome, didn't manage to find anywhere else that made it as good. Accomodation was ok, just a bed and bathroom so it was all we neeeded for the few days we were staying. Apparently people in Bangkok don't follow any driving laws which was a bit scary at times but also a good laugh. The tuk tuk and taxi drivers were the ... read more

Well, it's 2am here in Darwin. It's really odd to think that I probably won't be back to Darwin again. At least, not to visit my parents... they're selling up and moving to Victoria later this year. It's been lovely spending time with them the past few weeks. My sister Amanda, her partner Darren, and my nephew Damon (aka 'my favourite boy in the whole wide world') were here over Christmas and New Year, which was fantastic. The last family Christmas in Darwin, as it shall forever be known. My friend Nicole flew up from Adelaide for a few days, and was witness to (and key participant in) my first and last big night out in Darwin. Very sore head the next day. Good night out, though. The time here has been kinda hectic. In between ... read more

Hi guys! Welcome to my blog. I was actually going to set one up on another site... but when the lovely Belinda sent me the link to hers, here, I liked what I saw. You can subscribe (if you're so inclined), and I believe you then receive email updates when I post. Please, feel free to let me know if you think I'm posting rubbish. Meh... not that I'll necessarily change what I do. But, at least it may make you feel better. Here's hoping that this is interesting enough to keep you coming back for more.... read more
