Edit Blog Post

At long last this is my highly anticipated first blog. The first three weeks have been pretty good, been to thailand which was good but i was glad when we left. I didn't really like Bangkok, bit too hot, crowded and full of annoying thai people trying to sell you stuff or get you to ride tuk tuks. Food was good though, had phad thai the first night we were there and it was awesome, didn't manage to find anywhere else that made it as good. Accomodation was ok, just a bed and bathroom so it was all we neeeded for the few days we were staying. Apparently people in Bangkok don't follow any driving laws which was a bit scary at times but also a good laugh. The tuk tuk and taxi drivers were the worst for trying to rip us off but once we got used to the currency we haggled them down to reasonable prices. Beer is cheap which is very good, and they have quite a good selection to chose from as well. Bought a few shirts and stuff down Khao san road which was heaving with stalls and people. Got the sleeper train out of Bangkok which was an experience i don't think i'd like to go through again, 12 hours on a roasting hot train with millions of midges is not my idea of fun. My feet took a beating, they got bitten 15 times on that train and i was in agony for the next few days. It took us nearly 24 hours to get to Ko samui but it was deffinatley worth it. Checked into the hotel and jumped straight into the pool which was very refreshing. Chilled out on the beach and in the sea quite a bit which was nice after the hustle and bustle Bangkok. Met two coppers from back home who we drank with at the hotel on our last night in Ko samui, got slightly tipsy and ended in the pool. Caught a ferry to Krabi, which was like a slower version of Bangkok by the sea. Had an awesome meal at a sea food restaurant, i had fried squid for starter followed by lobster for the main course. Went kayaking through caves and saw some monkeys, one of which tried to crap on my boat so i shoved it into the water. Rode an elephant which was alright, they are like the land rovers of the animal world they go over anything. Got to Phi Phi islands which were stunning, they had loads of places to eat and buy things from and loads of bars. Went diving which was amazing, so much better than when we went down at horsea island. It was really warm and very clear, went down to about 20m on the first dive and saw loads of fish, coral and even a shark! Had lunch on the boat and got to do a bit of free diving which i really enjoyed. The second dive was next to a huge wall and we saw loads of little marine creatures and plant life, we saw another shark which was pretty exciting. Got a dvd of the dives we done which means we will be able to show you what we saw. Got on the ferry to head to Phuket and debbie realised we had left all our flight tickets and other things back in the hotel safe. I volunteered to go back and catch the next ferry which was a nice 3 hour wait so i went to a sports bar and had a few cold ones and watched some highlights. Finally got to Phuket and met up with the girls at the hotel. To be continued
