Wow, this place is amazing. Manly is a small town off the shore of the northern beaches which has recently become huge for young travelers to visit frenquently. It's only a 20 minute ferry ride from Sydney and the beach is absolutely beautiful. You can find beautiful scenery, weather and...women, all over the place. The restaurants are in large variety and the shops are sweet as peaches, (sweet term eh?). We left around 11am and took the bus out towards this town we've heard so much about. We realized early on the rumours were correct. I had such a blast of serenity hit me i decided to do something i'd been thinking about doing for awhile. So, we hit up the manly piercing shop and I took full advantage of our freedom as young adults with ... read more

Finally, a day to sleep in... even though we've only worked two days so far, its been hard work. At 11am Graham took us to his hand-made sail boat and we sailed for a few hours to Palm Beach. The wind was cool and stable and the waters were calm, perfect conditions. When we arrived at the beach we archored, set up the sun canopy and ate lunch. Cheese, pita, hommus (yes hOmmos, thats how we roll down undah), and corn chips. Eating on a sail boat, on the ocean, is something everyone should do. We highly recommend it. After filling the tank, Silas met up with us with body boards and we took off to the waves. (not Si, his foot is injured). The surf was small, but we still had a blast. We didnt ... read more

Thia morning I had to go out of Sydney to meet with Matt Tognetti, who I'm supposed to be working for in Perth. Unfortunately it didn't go as well as I'd hoped and I left with the impression that I didn't really have enough experience for recruiting over here or that he really wanted to hire anyone. Oh well, will just have to keep my fingers crossed and wait and see. I went staright from the meeting to Circular Quays to meet up with Amy, and her friend Abbie, who she met on her Whitsundays trip, only to fins that Amy had left her purse in a public loo and it had been stolen!! Of course it had her room key (with a business card for the hostel, whoops!), her debit card and of course she'd ... read more

So I figured I could write my blog on word and then post it on the internet and save time. Today I went down to Manly Beach. It is known as a surfer’s paradise and to locals is better than Bondhi. You have to take a 30 min. ferry to get there. The ferry docks on one side of the island and the beach is on the other side. As I was walking there I noticed a giant penguin standing with a bunch of kids and a crowd around. Turns out there was a penguin conservation meeting going on for the penguins of Manly beach. The last penguin colony on New South Wales main land. The event was led by kids and focused on thing you can not do to help the penguins. Don’t take flash ... read more

So where I left off from was that the crazy lady and I both landed safely and I survived without buying a dodgy watch! It was really early in the morning and all I wanted to do was get some sleep but and hour and a half later and explaining that yes I have put on quite a bit of weight since my passport photo was taken so thank you Australian immigration for making me feel good! Jess came and got me from the airport and looked stunning as always even though she was up at 3.30am to get ready to pick me up at 5.00am. I did appreciate that and also got some earache for it too! So I met Mal briefly before he went to work and I am sure I must have sounded ... read more

So this is my first entry. It’s been a long while I know and I am sure that you have all been missing me lots. I would also like to say sorry for taking so long I am shit at this kind of thing. So in this update I will tell you about my trip to Sydney. First of all woke up feeling like absolute shit thanks to those who came out the night before thank you! And decided that my first job was to actually pack and organise what I should take. I know I should have done that a while ago but its me so it is expected. I the realised that I had not got my ticket through and started to panic but realised it was an e-ticket so all I needed was ... read more

So now finally in Sydney- it is positively huge!We have seen a lot in the past week or so on our way here from Newcastle. The van is now running fine and we decided to detour up into the blue mountains before entering the city. Sydney's maze of outer city roads led us up 1000+ meters into the blue mountains. We camped at Katoomba and absorbed the sights breifly before bed. Overnight the temperature hit below freezing- we kept waking to huddle closer together in hope of avoiding pneumonia! Once the sun rose the next day, sightseeing took priority and we walked through bush and along cliff tops with stuning views comparable to that of NP's in America. Anne stated the valleys were like a wooded Grand Canyon. We batled out way through town, avoiding ... read more
