Thanks to a tourism ad for North Carolina in my Budget Travel magazine, I decided I'd set out to see the waterfalls of the Southwest region. I dug around a little on the internet and found THIS LINK. Waking up at 6am the next day, I was off to spend a day seeing the area's natural beauty. The original idea was to start with Whitewater falls since it's the tallest East of the Smokey Mountains at 411 feet tall. On the way there, we (Myself and Chris) passed Glen/Glenn falls. We decided we might as well stop there while we knew where they were. We should have just spent the entire day here. (I'll explain more later.) I'm still a bit confused about the proper spelling of the falls, signage listed it both ways. Glen/Glenn ... read more

A bit of Bob Marley for those who didn't already know! Finally on a free computer so managed to notice I had an unpublished blog entry from NY. It should be there for all to see now, not sure why it didn't go up to begin with? So, Florida now and we're in a hostel in Ft. Lauderdale. Got a greyhound down yesterday from Orlando (will do another retrospective on that asap, hotel had internet, but it was $12 an hour!) Arrived yesterday evening after a 5 and a half hour journey. Starting to get used to that though so I didn't mind too much. We figured we'd walk to the hostel as it was only about 15-20 blocks, but didn't realise how awkward a city this was! There are rivers ect running through it EVERYWHERE ... read more

OD’s comments: Not sure if I gave our exact location last night. We stayed at Lewis Mountain Camp. Will try to make Hightop Hut today. We changed our packs around yesterday and it seemed to work better. CC carries her sleeping bag, both cloths bags, the cook pot and water purifier. I carry all food, tent complete and the fuel/stove. We will try a new system of walking today. Have been walking for three hours before taking a break (CC sets the pace, so no slave driver comments please :-) Today we will take a 5 - 10 minute break every hour. It will be a few days until the next phone. Thanks for the prayers. Patrick, Deborah Mooney aka OD & CC All Who Wander Are Not Lost ... read more

Hi all!!! A quick note to tell you I am way behind with the Blog! I was in Zipolite, a beach at the Pacific Ocean with Huge waves roling all day long. Once I got there, I could not move anymore!!! The Internet was so bad there I could only upload some pictures once. Now that I am back in the city I'll try to send more pictures of the past few weeks... Here in DF I have been to the Lucha Libre!!! The Mexican Wrestling fights. Actually it is more of a show and it was great fun, but we were not allowed to take pictures :-((( And today I am just back from the Punk-Gothic-Metal-Rock Market. It was like being in a time capsule and I jumped back 20year!!! All dressed in black, spikes, ... read more

Back in Altona. Trying to get organized and packed. I've managed to stuff everything in my backpack, but I'll probably take all of it out and re-pack it about 10 times before tomorrow morning. The countdown that me and Tav set at the beginning of January has counted down from 90ish days to 23 hours and 53 minutes (until take-off). Leaving Altona around 10 tomorrow morning and won't be back until the evening of May 28!... read more

UntitledGeoff Burt Wandered around the local area the other day. Posted several items back home that we don't need to lug around the rest of the world. After a nice Singapore style meal at a local shopping area - Farmers Market - Geoff lashed out and bought a new Apple laptop - the last of the big purchases for the duration. This morning (Saturday, April 28) after a free brunch by the complex swimming pool we watched Alain & Ange enjoy the water. He really loves splashing around in the pool. Took a short video which we'll attach if able. Drove up the coast quite a distance to a seafood restaurant - Geoffrey's in Malibu. Sitting just across from us ... read more

Grosse frayeur d'autant ... read more

Fredag d. 27/4 (dag 11) Efter gårsdagens Heste eventyr, som foregik uden for selve National parken, gik turen idag ind i selve Bryce Canyon.
