Fredag d. 27/4 (dag 11) Efter gårsdagens Heste eventyr, som foregik uden for selve National parken, gik turen idag ind i selve Bryce Canyon.

This year started the first JAX Irish Fest. And of course, Gaby and I had to go. Not only were they celebrating the Irish culture, i.e. lots of drinking, but our favorite band, Flogging Molly was set to perform. Now neither Gaby nor I had a car, so we borrowed my roommate's on the condition that we be back in time to pick her up from work (even though our dorm is a five minute walk from work). That meant we had to leave at 10pm. Flogging Molly weren't scheduled to come on stage until 9:30pm. The half hour we were there though was worth the all the pushing and crushing people were doing behind us. I have never been groped so many times in such a small period of time. And by other girls ... read more

OD's comments: First day since coming back on the trail we had a nice sunrise and no fog or rain. The trail was nice and we saw a number of northbounders. We also talked to one of the trail maintenance workers. These guys do one heck of a job. All the clean up work after this spring's ice storm will take a very long time. We only did 8.7 miles today and it is the first time in days my heels didn't get worse. I did a small modification to the heel of my boots and it worked. The band-aids stayed put all day. If I can get three days without any more problems, the boots I have now will work fine. Got into the shelter by 3:30PM and took our time doing dinner and prepping ... read more

My first impression of New York is that it never sleeps, you can get virtually anything at any time .i was staying at the Latham Hotel for 2 nights so I had to think also about further accommodation wasn’t prepared to stay any longer there as half the hotel was being occupied by single mothers with loads of rug rats ,I was paying $100 a night !I wanted more from the hotel. Decided to look further later in the day the only thing really in its favour was the location. Just off 5th Avenue. And round the corner was that Icon the Empire State Building The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in New York, NY. Its name is derived from the nickname for the state of New York. It stood as ... read more

The time late April, the place Northern Yellowstone National Park, the People: Mike Sulock, Kezia Manlove, Mike "Moon" Sweely and myself. The four of us decided to go forth and hike up through the Lamar Valley close to the location that I saw the Grizzly and the Wolves fighting over the dead Buffalo carcass in . The actual goal behind this hike was to make it to "Dead Bear Springs", but we didn't quite get to the springs (though we saw it from a distance). If you aren't looking for an intense hike with lots of ups and downs, this isn't a bad hike to do. It's fairly flat along the high plains, BUT if you are nervous around large 'ornery' buffalo than I don't recommend it, we encountered roughly a half a dozen of ... read more

Alright so I can't remember the last time I wrote but i'll start this one with my weekend trip to Seattle. Well the night before Seattle we booked into a hostel right beside the bus station so we could just wake up and walk to the station early the next morning. It was only a four hour bus ride and after our huge overnight bus ride to Vancouver this was more then easy. My aussies got across the boarder no problem but had to pay $6 for some reason or another. We arrived in Seattle just before noon and wandered around until we found our hotel. We stayed at the Fairmont Olympic which is a five star hotel. It was absolutely beautiful and the staff there couldn't do enough for you. We explored Seattle for a ... read more
