Ok this is gonna be real short, only because i lost my camera and am kinda sour about the fact i have no pictures to document this lovely story. We had organised to stay with these gold people from camp, Venus, Ray and their adorable young lads Josh and Ryan, so we knew once that had been planned this was gonna to be no relaxing time to catch up on much need sleep from raging around Central America. Venus picked us up from the airport as soon as we got there in her best outfit that she had, i personally think she went to the trouble of buying new threads for our arrival. I never really knew how much they wanted us at their place untill she reavealed that she had driven 2 hours to come ... read more

Florida is one the places that I love as its a good shopping paradise, nice beach, lovely people, good foods, cheap accommodation and amazing Disney World! I headed to Miami from Boston and spent 2 days 1 night on the bus and met few people on the bus, some of them were weird and some of them were normal. I met this guy from west africa and I think he was kinda weird cause he wanna change his ticket to come to Miami with me when he found out that I travel alone, he wanna keep me accompany and he kept saying "Jess, you have beautiful eyes and you are so beautiful..." blah blah blah. I think something wrong with him as my eyes are not beautiful and I looked normal and I don't think I'm ... read more

Hi everyone! I currently have been trying to get to Jamaica for 33 hours. We left Boston Logan International 3 hours late due to Mechanical problems, and missed our connecting flight to Kingston. This has caused us a couple of problems, because Hurricane Rita is currently reeking havoc on the Florida Keys and will soon be a category 4 hurricane by the time it hits either the LA or TX area. We have been booked on 4 different flights to Kingston, all of which have either been missed or cancelled. American Airlines has thankfully provided us a hotel room for last night and tonight. They have also given us some meal vouchers that pay for the majority of our meals. We are going to try to get on an AirJamaica flight tomorrow morning. If this ... read more

Yes. As Nancy mentioned, we are currently stranded in the windy, rainy, flightless city of Miami, where we've spent the last two days mostly sprawled out on airport floors, talking with various tourists in various lounge areas. This whole ordeal has been incredibly draining, not only for the psyche, but for the body and the wallet, as well. The airline has been nice enough to provide us with housing and food vouchers, but they unfortunately cannot provide a change of clothes - thus, Nancy and I have been sporting the same outfits for three days now. I'm not going to lie - my shirt is pretty rank at this point. Thankfully, we've concocted a plan for tomorrow morning: having stolen red fleece blankets from our Boston flight, said blankets will make a lovely wrap-around skirt. You ... read more

It’s... 10 countries, 31 trains, 4 planes, 6 boats, 9 hotels, 3 friends’ homes, 6 night trains, 12 friends visited, 56 postcards sent, 6 days with a bit of rain, 18 travel blog entries, 1 Java presentation, 1 doctor, 7 types of medicine, 4 packs of tissues, 9 books (3 read completely, 6 partially read), 6 loads of laundry, 2 pounds less, 1 celebrity, 7 languages, 4 currencies, and 31 days later. We’ve had the experience of our lives and are so glad that we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to see so much of the world outside of our own country, form so many new friendships, and return back home safely to Melbourne, Florida and to a life that will soon be so totally different than anything we can possibly imagine! Thank you ... read more

Train to the airport Delayed flight to Miami I’m on a cruise ship! It’s finally cruise time! Anita was nice to get up early and drop me off at the local Marta station so that I could catch the next train south towards the airport. I waited about 15 minutes for a train to come but I had plenty of time to get myself to the airport so I wasn’t going to be time crunched. It took about 45 minutes from the arrival of the train to the check in line up. Not bad! I went to the self check in kiosk and quickly booked myself in only to find out that my flight was delayed from a 9:01AM departure to a 10:13AM departure. Sigh…more waiting around. Finally I got onto my flight that wasn’t too ... read more
