hello everyone, Voila une semaine que je suis a miami, et TOUT VA BIEN ! Je suis a Aventura, un peu au nord de miami, qui est surtout connu pour son centre commercial (que je ne manquerais pas de visiter...). je suis chez mon amie costaricaine IONA, rencontree pendant mon echange a Austin au texas. La premiere semaine a ete assez agitee a cause de la winter music conference, c' est a dire la semaine la plus agitee de l'annee a miami, avec des soirees avec des supers dj dans tous les clubs. Samedi je suis allee voir David Guetta a un festival de musique electronique c'etait top ! cete semaine est plus cool, il fait moins beau aussi... mais c'est toujours sympa : je vais me concentrer sur le shopping ! ... read more

I arrived in Miami at 2am a day late. (It's complicated, don't ask!) Dad had told Lisa and Brian (who i'm staying with) that i would be wearing a red jumper. The thing is, they don't say jumper over here and so they assumed i'd be wearing a jumpsuit! If that's not bad enough, dad had told them that i'd probably be too hot so it'd be tied around my waist which would just be weird! So yeah. My bag was really heavy and i was way too hot. So far i've had a great time. Baby Sami is really cute and everyone over here is really friendly and very funny. But they never let me pay for anything! 02/13/07 5:45pm Welcome to Miami! Bienvenidos a Miami! (You'd better be singing it a la Will Smith!) With a 5.5 hour layover in Miami airport, there really isn't much to write about -- not yet at least. Well there has been some drama already. Our friend Brandee, who is working in Chicago, called us to let us know that her flight from Chicago to Miami was cancelled. Not delayed. Cancelled! Instead of meeting us (me, Meli, and Louis) in Miami to head to Sao Paulo and then to Salvador, she'll arrive on Thursday. That sucks for her! This morning we pulled anchor around 0600. headed up the ICW towards Miami. At 0830 Maribel went below to listen and check in the cruisers net. She heard Karen, from Sea Dancer checking in. They were headed same way as us. Maribel located boat card for Sea Dancer, called her on the cell, made arrangements to meet this evening at No Name Harbor in Key Biscayne. Lundi le 4 décembre Une journée spéciale, relaxante et surprenante. Hier soir, Guy s'est couché à 17h30; j'ai fais un peu d'internet et j'ai pris une bonne douche dans le cockpit. Quand j'étais prête pour aller au lit Guy s'est levé et a pris une douche à son tour, puis à 20hres nous avons dormi à poings fermés jusqu'à 7 heures ce matin. Le petit déjeuner a été pris dehors dans le cockpit, au soleil environ 82 F. Par la suite nous avons changé la courroie du moteur et réaliginé la poulie de l'alternateur pour qu'elle cesse de "manger" les courroies. Il fait tellement chaud que le travail est au ralenti.
