Best part of writing my blog is to be able to reach out to all our family and friends. Today is Cory's sister, Cris Guenter's birthday. A very Happy, Happy Birthday to you, Cris. We are thinking of you! This is my attempt at my blog while feeling kind of dumpy. Actually, I am better today than recent ones so that is why I am making this weak attempt. Bear with me, folks. Limited activity on our part so only a couple days of taking you on our tour around town. Cory and I went to a mall that had been almost closed last year. It is located next to a Bass Pro store. Some investor has taken this depleted, adjoining mall and turned it into a monster-sized artisan gallery. It is called Artegon. It has ... read more

Lots of celebration going on here at a Tropical Palms since our arrival back on land. Cory and Sam made their annual bet on the Super Bowl. Sam has lost the bet these past two years so they have had to treat us to some very fine meals. Whoa...what an ending to the game....what's happening?? - the tide has turned and Sam won the bet this time. Hooray for Sam and Boo-Hoo to us. We had become accustomed being the winners. A shock to our systems. Lucky Bucky has lost his mojo. We are now to treat Sam & Sandy to an evening at the Cheesecake Factory. Sam has already forewarned us he is ending his meal with five hot fudge sundaes. I am applying for a job at the first aid center at Disney World ... read more

You just never know who you are going to see in this area....besides Mickey Mouse. Cory and I were doing one of our marathon shopping trips. One stop was the Prime Outlet Mall.....every expensive store you can imagine is here with some reasonable priced ones also. All the foreign tourists come here. It sounds the United Nations when you stop and listen to the chatter. My two years of French and five years of Latin does nothing to help me eves drop. We were going into the Food Court to get a root beer when a couple was exiting through the same door. I did a double take and I said to Cory....."It's Hugh Heffner and his gal ( wife?)." AND me without my iPad....rats! What shall I do? Help! Thrashing! Fortunately, my Prince Charming jumped ... read more

We go from a couch potato life to a whirlwind life.?....????Sometimes, it takes a bit to catch up with ourselves. Pant, pant, pant! We haven't gone on any major excursions for a couple days but we still are not leaving any grass on the path. Tuesday night, we visited with friends at another end of this park. Their location was better to view a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral. We all gathered around, waiting in anticipation. Finally at 8:04 PM, the glowing flare sailed high above us into Never, Never Land. It was gleeful to watch. And better yet, with good friends. Yesterday, Sam & Cory went to the mega Mecum Car Auction. You often can see it televised on TV. They have rows upon rows of huge tents (someone said they spend a half million ... read more

Woweeeee. Can you ever have enough shopping days? I think you can and I think we have. Our day, yesterday, started out with a huge fire truck and ambulance pulling into Tropical Palms a row ahead us. That wakes you up! One of the campers obviously had a medical problem as they took him away in the ambulance. Hope he is okay. More return items to go back to the store was next on our agenda. We returned a WiFi Range Extender to Best Buy. We had hoped it would improve the wifi available here at Tropical Palms but it didn't. We are trying not to use up all our data with our own hotspot. I write this blog in "notes" and then do a cut and paste....that is a big savings. But Cory and I ... read more

Today included a few household chores. First, was doing the wash. Fortunately we have a washer and dryer inside our motor home. Makes it an easy chore to do. Cory called Universal Studios and renewed our annual passes. A couple visits to this park and the passes pay for themselves so any other time we go is just gratis. It pays for the parking and takes a discount off the food and souvenirs, also. This year is really going to be something. They have opened the big, new Harry Potter park.....we shall be in an authentic replica of London once we travel on the special train that takes us there. All I care about, really, is getting the butter beer. I love butter beer! It is a cream soda lovers delight. It is like cream soda ... read more

A slow, relaxing start to the day. Sandy and I had items to return that we bought the other day at The Loop. I bought a lovely Columbia jacket at Bealls. It had a small spot on the sleeve but the clerk said "take it home and try to remove it with soap and water." Plus she gave me a further discount because of the spot. She said if I couldn't get the spot out, bring it back. Well, unfortunately, I couldn't get out and had to take it back. I was sad. I also had purchased a nice top (that I didn't need but liked it). When I got home and tried it on....yikes...it had no back! It had a full slit up the middle of the back that waved in the wind. It did ... read more

Our site is all set up. I think it looks wonderful. It may be a bit overboard for some but at least, if you are looking for us, we are easy to find. My various lawn ornaments are all in place....like a small amusement park (no tickets needed) you can gingerly wander through. No rides though...just creatures. The park removed the large palm tree that grew on this site so Cory attached our small, light-up tree to the stump. It works! Not as big but much brighter and beautiful at night. Cory put up our little canopy. It had four built in lights and then he added more along the top edges.....whoooo......bee- u - tee- ful! Actually, just breathtaking. We shall call it The Lighthouse! He put multicolored lights around the bottom of our RV.....more beauty! ... read more

It's coming together nicely. Cory is so patient with my whims to bring half our household stuff from home with us plus all the lawn decorations that I have collected over the years. He always says he has NO MORE ROOM but somehow he gets it all in. I did try to thin things down but there is still enough to fill a warehouse. I always like the place to look busy and festive. We have returned to a small dining canopy WITH LIGHTS on our patio! We'll use it when needed....right now, Cory has it set up like the 19th hole on a golf course with his clubs stored and bar tables set up. It may become his man cave. We putter along and then break to visit with our friends.....more fun than working. I ... read more

Today began at the Daytona Flea Market. We left our RV at the dumpy motel and drove across the road to the flea market.....we were conveniently located so that is our lemonade for this place. I think we were the only white people at this motel. The Flea Market was okay...not as exciting as we remembered. Mostly junk and cell phone holders. We did make a couple purchases...junk or not. Lulu had a good time so I guess it was worth it. It doesn't take much for her to fit right in to her surroundings. A true show-off. Now we are on I-4 heading to our winter home site: Tropical Palms (Kissimmee). We usually travel to Tampa and across as we need to get de- winterized. We either go to Lazy Days where we bought the ... read more
